Where we need you
Identifies savings initiatives within the commodity and drive prioritized initiatives
Verifies that RFQ documentation is accurate and complete, allowing suppliers to provide accurate quotations and to build to specifications.
Identifies and selects vendor to procure requisitioned commodities, meeting criteria such as price, quantity, quality.
Obtains and analyzes quotes to determine best value, then recommends to respective Global Commodity * Manager solutions based on data and facts collected.
Enables competition, incl. potentials from BCC sourcing.
Responsible for planning and execution of price negotiations, incl. change management activities, commercial target setting and achievement.
Owns the relationship to key vendors and cooperates to develop them into strategic partners.
One face to the supplier approach - acts as Foreign minister.
Takes lifecycle responsibility for affected parts in the Commodity - from strategic sourcing (commodity strategies, managing RFQ processes and nomination, etc.), operational procurement (identification of needs, POs, etc.) to supplier management (contract management, performance management).
Supervises capacities at suppliers.
Scouting of innovations (technologies/ supplier), delivering market input to the internal strategic planning departments.
Ensures compliance to corporate sourcing policy and procedures.
Maintains standard work documentation.

Job Description: Buyer
Key Responsibilities
Preparation and issuance of requests for quote, evaluation of total cost options, presentation of sourcing recommendations.
Engage with cross-functional internal teams in the purchasing of capital expenditures.
Negotiation of cost, terms, quality, technology and delivery of materials and/or services with internal and external customers.
Purchase order placement and maintenance.
Analysis of global market conditions and trends.
Development and execution of commodity and sourcing strategies.
Ability to analyze and conduct make/buy scenarios and pursue/implement actions in support of corporate cost reduction objectives.
Support new program launches and interface with internal customers on critical supplier issues and change management.
Manage supplier performance, identify risks and develop/implement mitigation plans.
Develop, improve, and document procurement processes.
Required Skills
One (1) to four (4) years of purchasing and supply chain management experience including negotiating with suppliers and managing the supply base post-sourcing.
Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Strong project management skills.
Strong analytical and technical skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Minimal travel required.
Education
Bachelor's Degree required with focus in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or Engineering.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Negotiate/source multiple vehicle components and systems for new vehicle development builds that meet down-select source requirements
Work closely with engineering and design on rapid component design changes and sourcing/delivery impact assessment
Ensure ITC (International Trade Compliance), ITAR, FAR/DFARS, are strictly followed, as well as associated Price Analysis Packages fully completed upfront
Negotiate with suppliers NDA's, Bailment, TAA's, Development Agreements, T&C's, and IP foreground/background
On board new suppliers and ensure completion of onboarding documentation
Maintain commodity specific preferred/new supplier list or scorecard
Complete Sourcing Strategy Plan reviews on critical items
Complete and obtain approval for PO file documentation ensuring determination of fair and reasonable pricing
Issue SAP PO's and ensure approved file packages are uploaded
As core Integrated Product Team (IPT) member, balance multiple IPT's to achieve schedule/budget objectives for each program
Identify and resolve supplier open issues, risks, and performance concerns
Manage continuous SCM exchange of information to keep team, suppliers, and SCM group up to date
Attend and manage multiple meetings including IPT, Program Management, SCM staff, and supplier meetings
Track and meet metric requirements including but not limited to: Open Requisition's, RFQ's issued/closed, source on time, writeup completions, PO's and Stock Transfers completed, target to actual cost performance
Assist Accounts Payable with promptly tracking / resolving open commitments and invoice variance
For complex service/development PO's, crosscheck invoices against actual supplier quote/SOW to ensure contractual performance is achieved
Work closely with existing or new suppliers on new technology introductions and development projects
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or equivalent preferred (with CPSM/CPM, and/or MBA preferred)
Must have at least 4 years of procurement experience, self-motivated, takes initiative
Experience in negotiation in automotive or defense industries
Experience in working successfully in cross-functional groups
Analytical thinking, negotiating, and problem-solving skills required
PowerPoint creation and presentation of detailed sourcing analysis required
High level of internal and external communication
Ability to read prints/understand basics of component manufacturing
Demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities required
Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to continuously analyze problems, recommend, and implement solutions
Show effective customer service with internal departments and end corporate customer
