We are seeking a mission-focused Information Security Engineer to support a State level cybersecurity program. In this role, you will be part of a team providing cyber assessments based on NIST CSF 2.0 compliance reporting.
Job Description
Conduct cybersecurity assessments to determine an organization's cybersecurity maturity
Analyze and define security requirements for information protection
Define and develop security policies IAW best practices and NIST guidelines
Analyze the sensitivity of information and perform vulnerability/risk assessments on the basis of defined sensitivity and information flow
Participate in security assessments of designated organizations
Present findings and recommendations to improve the overall security posture of the organization
Minimum Requirements
Minimum five (5) years experience defining security programs or processes for the protection of sensitive or classified information
BS Degree in a technical field
Proficient in generally accepted IT standards, statements, and practices, as well as IT security and control practices
Knowledgeable in NIST CSF 2.0 documentation and its application
Must be able to travel to various locations within the state of Maryland as needed.

Job Description
Lead a team comprised of Penetration Testers and Vulnerability scanners.
Ensure compliance to Service Level Agreements (SLA), process adherence and process improvisation to achieve operational objectives and mitigate threats.
Revise and develop processes to strengthen the current operational activities; review policies and recommend changes to improve governance based on knowledge of security tools.
Responsible for team management and overall use of resources and initiation of corrective action where required for Security Operations Center
Coordinate with stakeholders to build and maintain positive working relationship
Knowledge of penetration testing tools and in the ability to assess penetration testing findings.
Knowledge of vulnerability scanning tools to maintain capabilities as a sustained, full-time program independent of incident detection, recovery, or reporting activities.
Experience with business process reengineering, capability maturity model, change management, or process improvement.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum six (6) years IT experience with at least four (4) years in an IT Security position.
Qualified candidates must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience leading a team in a SOC type operation for a government or commercial client.
BS Degree or additional work experience substitution
Experience with tools like Webinspect, Nessus, burp Suite, Metasploit, PCAP tools etc.
Experience with interpreting, discussing, or presenting findings to stakeholders as required.
Experience with building metrics around findings or output from pentesting and/or scanning tools.

Knowledge of penetration testing tools and in the ability to assess penetration testing findings.
Knowledge of vulnerability scanning tools to maintain capabilities as a sustained, full-time program independent of incident detection, recovery, or reporting activities.
Familiarity with performing security assessments for all IT systems, to include hardware, software, websites and other IT technologies
Experience with business process reengineering, capability maturity model, change management, or process improvement.
Minimum Requirements
