Located approximately 50 miles northeast of Safford, Arizona on U.S. Highway 191, Morenci operations (an open-pit copper mining complex) has been in continuous operation since 1939. The operation consists of two concentrators, crushed-ore leach pad and stacking system, a low-grade run-of-mine (ROM) leaching system; four SX plants; and three EW tank houses that produce copper cathode.

**Description**
Under minimal supervision, provides technical knowledge and guidance for designated interface groups. Provides installation, diagnostics, repair and reliability of industrial control systems and equipment.
+ Interface between staff engineers, external technical representatives, power transmission and distribution representatives, operations, and maintenance personnel. Experience with control system maintenance and associated project development/implementation
+ Provides installation, diagnostics, repair and reliability of industrial control equipment (i.e. instrumentation, industrial communications, HMI, PLC, PC interface, protective relaying, power metering, and third party equipment)
+ Actively participates in safety and environmental programs and other programs determined by management
+ Other duties as assigned
**Qualifications**
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Completion of an approved electrical/instrumentation certification program and/or minimum of five (5) years electrical/instrumentation repair and maintenance in an industrial setting
+ Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required aptitude. The selected candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and skills while also passing a written assessment where required. This exam is based on skills/abilities and/or academic knowledge; as well as safety.
+ Completion of designated internal certification program within one year of hire
+ Experience in SCADA and HMI/PLC based control systems
+ Experience in protective relaying and power metering
+ Experience with acceptance/commissioning of substation equipment.
+ Strong technical knowledge in communication, interfaces and protocols

Description
Assists with the tailings, crushed leach and water team with data collection and monitoring activities, maintenance and surveillance items, engineering projects, and support daily operations at an assigned site.
* Performs field work and collects monitoring data.
* Manages data and assists with problem-solving that may require basic theories and engineering fundamentals.

Qualifications

ROLE SUMMARY:
The ControlsTechnician based in Mason City that supports the Mason City and Oskaloosa facilities by maintaining and troubleshooting electrical systems, automation equipment, and PLCs to ensure equipment reliability and production efficiency. Maintenance/Automation Technician should have extensive knowledge on hydraulics, pneumatics, systems and a working knowledge of PLC's. This position will be carried out in accordance with all company policies and procedures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities of this position shall consist of, but not be limited to, the following:
Load product into machines as needed to get ready for startup.
Set up lines correctly.
Operate auto-palletizing robot.
Ensure cartoner, case erector, and robotic palletizer are operating effectively.
Follow good manufacturing practices and HACCP training, along with company SOP's.
Manage start-up to make sure equipment is in proper operating condition.
Perform necessary checks at start of shift and at each new product change over; document on paperwork, code date, correct label, upper/lower film, etc.
Move and install plant machinery and equipment as needed.
Perform preventative maintenance on all plant machinery and equipment as scheduled.
Ability to give detailed descriptions related to troubleshooting and repair of equipment on a PC based system.
Extensive experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical, electronic equipment.
Ensure product conforms to specifications.
Ensure products are correctly labeled and identified for proper disposition.
Prevent/minimize rework and/or inedible product.
Monitor workflow to maximize machine output efficiencies.
Keep accurate records of products produced and materials used.
Suggest improvements; continuously improve the quality of all support activities.
Tasks will vary as situations and demands change; the lead/foreman/supervisor will assign tasks as necessary.

Demonstrated technical aptitude in mechanical and electro-mechanical fields
Able to use hand, power tools and electrical testing equipment such as a multi meter.

Electromechanical Technician Position Overview: The Electromechanical Technician is responsible for the setup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex automated systems and machinery located in the packaging and warehouse areas of the factory. This role requires a solid understanding of mechanical systems, electrical circuits, and computer control systems. The technician will work with engineers and other technicians to ensure equipment operates efficiently, safely, and within specified tolerances.
Essential Functions:

* Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and regulatory requirements for handling electrical and mechanical equipment and ensure that systems operate within safe parameters.
* Installation and Setup: Install and configure electromechanical systems and automated machinery, including sensors, actuators, valves, robotic arms, conveyor systems, and other automated equipment.
* Machine Maintenance: Performs routine and preventive maintenance on packaging and warehouse equipment, such as conveyor belts, conveyor rollers, baggers, fillers, sealers, labelers, printers, sealers, and wrapping machines. Maintains and repairs piping, screw conveyors, bucket elevators, and any equipment moving raw product and finished goods.
* Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair faults in machinery, electrical systems, and control systems. Use diagnostic tools to identify and resolve issues in hardware and software.
* Programming and Calibration: Program and calibrate controllers, sensors, and actuators to ensure proper operation of automated systems. Modify machine code or control parameters as necessary.
* System Upgrades: Assist with upgrades to existing systems to improve efficiency, integrate new technologies, and ensure compatibility with modern automation standards.
* Documentation: Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to keep detailed records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and system upgrades. Maintain wiring diagrams, machine manuals, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
* Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, production teams, and other technicians to address complex issues and ensure system uptime.
Skill & Experience Requirements:
* Friendly, results-oriented, and collaborative
* Education: Associate's degree or diploma in Electromechanical, Mechatronics, Robotics, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent experience in electromechanical/mechatronics may be considered.
* Experience: 2+ years of experience working with automated systems, robotics, and industrial machinery is highly preferred. Familiarity with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and control systems is highly preferred.
Technical Skills:
* Proficient in electrical wiring, circuit design, and troubleshooting.
* Experience with mechanical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and robotics.
* Familiarity with automation software (e.g., PLC programming, SCADA, HMI).
* Understanding of sensors, actuators, and motion control systems.
* Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues quickly and effectively.
* Communication: Ability to communicate technical issues and solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical personnel.
