Hawkins Parnell & Young LLP (Hawkins Parnell) is seeking a paralegal with one to three years of experience to join their Napa office. The practice areas this position will support include, but are not limited to, Insurance Defense, Premises Liability, Products Liability, and General Litigation, and support of the firm's national ESOP advisory team and ERISA litigation defense team.

What You Will Be Doing:
Managing cases including maintaining document control, calendaring docket deadlines
Preparing and organizing documents such as forms, charts, reports, letters, etc.
Assisting with trials, including organizing trial documents and exhibits
Preparing pre-trail pleadings
Preparing for depositions
Preparing for hearings
Requesting and organizing records
Maintain team and court calendars and keep attorneys aware of scheduled events and approaching deadlines
Schedule meetings and conference calls

What You Need To Bring:

Duties and Responsibilities
Proficient at the following:

Draft ancillary financing documents, resolutions and certificates
Manage the preparation, filing, and compliance tracking of Blue Sky notices, Section 16 filings, annual consents, and franchise tax reports.

Technology-Enabled Practice
Utilize Litera Transact to manage transaction checklists, signature packet generation, and closing documentation assemblies.
Recommend improvements to legal technology platforms, workflow automations, and knowledge management tools used in the ECVC practice.
Create and optimize internal workflows to enhance transaction efficiency and client service outcomes.
Stay conversant in emerging legal technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), and leverage those tools to streamline redundant processes, automate routine document tasks, and improve consistency across transactions.
Training and Knowledge Sharing
Design and deliver training programs for associates, new lateral attorneys, and junior professional staff in ECVC-specific practice workflows, client service standards, and technology platforms.
Serve as a mentor and knowledge resource for junior paralegals, assisting with onboarding and professional development initiatives.
Contribute to the development, organization, and updating of internal practice manuals, template banks, and ECVC process guides.
Other assignments as directed by an Attorney, Paralegal Manager or team member.
Leadership Initiatives:
Streamline, standardize and evaluate practice workflow and processes; develop and recommend quality control standards and process improvements
Identify and document best practices for developed workflows and processes. Develop and roll out training programs for Attorneys and Paralegals.

Job DescriptionCLS is seeking a full-time paralegal to work as a part of the Homeownership and Consumer Rights Unit (HCRU) to help low-income Philadelphians with tangled title problems. The HCRU represents low-income Philadelphians to save homes and fight predatory consumer scams using a variety of tools, include courtroom advocacy, community organizing and education, and legislative advocacy.
Tangled title problems occur when the homeowner who believes they own their home is not listed on the deed. This usually happens when a home is inherited from a family member, but the family never formally deals with the estate, and a new deed is never prepared. Tangled titles can also occur in rent-to-own agreements or when there has been deed fraud. Over 10,000 homes in Philadelphia have a tangled title, locking away a collective $1.1 billion in family wealth. These homes are disproportionately located in low-income, Black neighborhoods. By addressing tangled titles, we can help grow intergenerational wealth and close Philadelphia's racial homeownership gap.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The job duties and responsibilities necessary for this position include:
Perform initial client interviews to learn more about new clients.
Meet with clients to help prepare wills, powers of attorneys, and other estate planning documents.
Help families negotiate emotionally fraught discussions about family homes and assets.
Assist attorneys in filing petitions with the Register of Wills and Orphans Court to resolve issues with probate.
Draft, execute, and record deeds to obtain record ownership of clients' homes.
Assist with estate administration, including matters concerning inheritance taxes and Medicaid estate recovery claims.
Work closely with the Tangled Title Fund to obtain outside funding to help families address their title issues.
Conduct community education sessions to teach homeowners how to deal with tangled titles and the importance of having a will.
Pursue systemic advocacy, including policy, administrative and legislative advocacy and racial justice initiatives.

Community Legal Services of Philadelphia (CLS) is seeking one full-time intake paralegal for the Health and Independence Unit (H&I) at its North Philadelphia office. Paralegals in the H&I Unit help clients navigate eligibility issues so clients can access public benefits that provide essential income and health coverage including TANF Cash Assistance, SNAP (Food Stamps), Medicaid, Medicare, LIHEAP, SSI and other Social Security benefits. * Draft formality documents, attend to document legalization (where necessary), comply with priority document requirements
* Review and maintain a docket of associated deadlines of assigned clients
* Timely report official communications to the client and foreign associates
* Consistently achieve billable hour expectation set by the firm (including approved non-billable time)
* Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
* Minimum of three (3) years' experience in international, PCT, and US patent prosecution required
* Must have a high school diploma (or equivalent); college degree and/or a paralegal certificate from a school approved by the ABA is preferred
* If residing in California must meet requirements to be a Paralegal as defined by the State of California
* Thorough knowledge of patent procedural requirements of USPTO practices required
