About this Job:
Oversees the operation of the Boilers and Chiller Plant and associated equipment ensuring the efficient operation during assigned shift. May be required to lead or assist with regular maintenance or emergency repairs to the boilers chillers and/or related equipment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Oversees/monitors the operation of the Chiller Plant during assigned shift. Ensures the systems are operating at best possible performance levels.
Performs regular maintenance/repairs to the Chiller Plant such as appropriate during shift reporting larger/ more complicated needs to the Forman or Power Plant Engineer I for action by the maintenance crew.
Assists the maintenance/repair crew with scheduled and emergency repairs to the boilers generators chillers and related Facilities Management equipment.
Ensures that assigned areas are operating within all applicable Hospital federal and local governing codes standards and regulations including but not limited to: OSHA NFPA The Joint Commission and Fire and Life Safety practices.
Learns and remains current with the latest applicable federal and local governing codes standards and regulations regarding fire safety plumbing electrical and plant operations including but not limited to: OSHA NFPA The Joint Commission ASHRAE ANSI DCRA D.C. Fire & Safety Codes and the Hospital's Fire and Life Safety practices.
Minimal Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma or GED required or
Trade/vocational school graduate or equivalent with courses in chemistry physics and/or mathematics and such training as to be able to read: layout diagrams blueprints mechanical drawings work sketches etc. preferred
Experience
completion of an approved apprentice training program required
Licenses and Certifications
Must have a current D.C. Third Class Operating License required and
current CFC License. required
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Familiarity with the latest applicable codes standards and regulations including but not limited to: OSHA NFPA The Joint Commission and Fire and Life Safety practices.

Respond to and resolve complex, high-severity incidents.
Lead regular reviews of deployed infrastructure, develop detailed architecture, and create and update new technical documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Analyze the current authentication services platforms to identify both technical and operational opportunities for enhancements and develop continuous improvement action plans.
Lead regular assessment of systems and process hygiene and identify and implement automation.
Actively research and implement new innovations in IT security as well as IAM technologies and services, striving to ensure McKesson continues to deliver best practices and standards.
Provide on-call support as needed for operational continuity of Identity platforms. (1 week rotation for ON-call)
Minimum Requirements:
Degree or equivalent and typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience.
Critical Experience/Skills:
Proven experience as an Active Directory/Entra ID Engineer or similar role with a minimum of 7 years of experience.
Proven ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks with competing priorities; strong influencing skills to work with various service owners.
Demonstrated experience effectively leading and managing collaborative, service management solutions across disparate functional teams.
Preferred Experience/Skills:
Advanced understanding of Active Directory, Azure Active Directory/Entra ID, Lightweight Directory Access Protocol, Active Directory Federation Services, and other centralized identity stores.
Advanced understanding of Microsoft Azure and familiarity with IAM permissions on Management Groups, subscriptions, and resources.

Advanced understanding of implementing security on Active Directory and Entra ID and hardening those platforms.
Advanced understanding of Active Directory and Entra ID backup and restore processes and experience of performing Disaster Recovery exercises.

The Role
Project Engineer
Join Vantage Specialty Chemicals as a Project Engineer and lead our Engineering team to improve production, quality, maintenance, and to effect cost reductions. While also seeking to drive excellence in production, quality, process troubleshooting and operations excellence, and contribute to our success in the chemical manufacturing industry.
Position Scope
This is an in-office position that works out of the Gurnee, IL manufacturing site that reports directly to our Engineering Director.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
This position is very much one of being a working supervisor. While supervising contracted personnel, both professional and hands-on, the individual is expected to maintain a sizable project load.
Direct or oversight responsibility for many of the capital projects undertaken at Vantage Oleochemicals. The normal flow of events in a project may include: completion of project design and developing a firm cost estimate, firm project design and a commitment on equipment, developing bid packages and going to contractors for bids on equipment and installation, coordinating and checking the actual construction, start-up and modifications of finished equipment and an Advice of Physical Completion for the project, and recommending routing maintenance, spare parts, listing necessary information and a financial closing (over or under estimate and why). May act as a Field Construction Manager or, in some cases, the Commissioning Manager.
In the area of technical assistance, the incumbent investigates problems of a production, maintenance or technical nature, such as equipment failure or a process bottleneck. Incumbent research and defines the problem, designs or modifies equipment and/or process bottleneck. Incumbent researches and defines the problem, designs or modifies equipment and/or process after determining cost feasibility and receiving departmental approval. The position is also responsible for implementing management systems (procedures, training, and assessments) to comply with the company's Engineering Procedures.
Key responsibilities: Perform all or segments of the necessary engineering work on assigned studies and projects to modify equipment and processes to increase output, reduce costs, eliminate safety hazards, and/or improve product quality. (60%)
Lead Vantage Gurnee efforts to implement procedures and practices to comply with aspects of the companies Engineering Procedures. (25%)
Conceive and recommend projects for improvement of existing practices and conditions to increase output, reduce costs, improve working conditions, eliminate safety hazards, and/or improve product quality. (15%)
Problem Solving:
Study existing situations (equipment, processes, manufacturing procedures, etc.), considering possible improvements or modifications, and preparing reports complete with conclusions and recommendations as a result of studies. Incumbent plans or assist in planning the approach to projects or segments of projects assigned by supervisor and for plant turnarounds. When assigned complete responsibility for small projects, supervises and participates in all aspects of the projects from inception to start-up (designs, estimates, calculations, test runs, etc.) and resolves all problems encountered. Resolves all problems relevant to engineering disciplines (chemical, civil, electrical, etc.) when assigned responsibility for portions of major projects. Draws on engineering knowledge to assist in troubleshooting equipment and/or process malfunctions. Detailed technical process assistance may be provided by other Engineers, but the incumbent is expected to make relevant and innovative contributions wherever possible.
Works routinely with other department heads and managers to assist in formulation of Vantage Oleochemicals' capital plan and refines proposals for submittal.
Accountability:
While reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, there remains a strong dotted line to the site manager and his staff. Actions taken and plans developed must be formulated with an eye to the site manager being the real customer.
Responsible for assisting in the development of technical improvements in equipment, processes, manufacturing procedures, etc. Directly affects profits by assisting in trouble-shooting equipment and/or process malfunctions and thereby restoring the plant to maximum operating efficiency. Responsible for adherence to safety and health rules & regulations.
Financial Responsibility:
Plays a major role in executing the Capital budget of approximately $10 Million per annum. Annually supervises or participates in 10-12 small ($25,000 or less) construction projects from inception to start-up. Annually manages 1 or 2 major ($.5MM and up) projects, assuming total responsibility for cost, scope, and technical success.
Education & Experience:
Education: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
Experience:
Minimum of ten (10) years of engineering experience.
Supervisory experience with small groups desirable.
Well-developed human relations and communications skills.
Experience in the chemical industry or other process plants, with related technologies is strongly preferred.

Pay

The Impact You'll Make in this Role
As a(n) Capital Project Engineer will be a part of the Facility Operations & Engineering team, dedicated to delivering capital projects that enhance facility infrastructure, utilities, production systems, and technology assets.
In this role you will manage projects from concept through commissioning while serving as the contractor's designated representative for construction activities. This includes providing technical leadership in design, ensuring safe and compliant execution, and acting as the primary liaison between the contractor, internal stakeholders, and external partners. The Capital Project Engineer will ensure projects are executed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Here, you will make an impact by:
Manage capital projects from concept development, design, procurement, and construction through commissioning and turnover.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce project costs, improve execution timelines, and enhance system reliability
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Industrial, or related Engineering discipline from an accredited university and (2) two years of experience in construction oversight or contractor-side project engineering in private, public, government or military environment
OR
High School Diploma/GED and (6) six years of experience in construction oversight or contractor-side project engineering in private, public, government or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Demonstrated experience serving as a designated contractor representative on capital or infrastructure projects.

Deliver projects from FEL through start-up: FEL-1/2/3, detailed design, procurement, construction, commissioning, performance validation, and handover.

Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain physics-based simulation models of spacecraft systems, including structures, sensors, and mission environments.
Perform end-to-end performance modeling for satellite missions, integrating sensor, orbital, and environmental models.
Conduct sensor phenomenology studies, including optical, infrared, or radar modeling for detection, tracking, and signature analysis.
Perform orbital mechanics modeling including orbit determination, orbital maneuvering, and spacecraft flight dynamics
Use scripting languages (Python, MATLAB, or similar) to automate workflows, perform data analysis, and interface between simulation tools.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in modeling and simulation for aerospace or space systems.
Active Top Secret/SCI w/Poly Clearance
Strong understanding of sensor phenomenology-such as optical, infrared, or radar systems-and associated modeling methods.
Intermediate Python programming experience, demonstrated through hands-on experience with tasks such as data manipulation, automation, and development of Python-based solutions. Experience with libraries such as NumPy, SciPy, pandas, and matplotlib is beneficial.
Ability to communicate technical results clearly in both written and verbal formats.
Preferred Qualifications:

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review customer specifications, product drawings, and related documentation to determine best overall control solution to meet or exceed customer requirements.
Development of overall controls architecture for complex assembly, test, and special process systems incorporating pneumatic, cam, and servo driven stations.
Support electrical designers and provide technical details required to implement the design.

Configure and program remote I/O devices such as Ethernet IP, Modbus or similar.
Program a variety of safety and non-safety PLCs, and HMIs.
Fanuc, Yaskawa, ABB, Universal, Kuka, Epson Robot programming experience a plus.
Exceptional problem solving, analytical reasoning, and debugging skills.
Strong organizational skills dedicated to meeting / beating schedules & budgets.
Strong analog and digital background with C++ experience a plus.
Ability to integrate instrumentation and lab equipment into automated systems to provide accurate measurements and test results that meet customer specifications a plus.
