Job Description Knapheide has openings for 2nd and 3rd shift Machine Operators in our Quincy, IL plant. Prefer candidates with some previous experience in the respective job area, factory machine operation, construction, farming, warehousing backgrounds. Successful employees will be self-starters with excellent attendance records and a good attitude. Must be able to work with others and follow direction. Overtime/Saturday work in required several times a month. All candidates will be subject to a pre-employment physical and drug screen.

Immediately report any actual or potential problems to the supervisors. * Ensure machines are functioning efficiently, making adjustments as necessary to optimize output and reduce downtime. * Maintain all tools, jigs, fixtures, and molds in good working condition, including regular cleaning, waxing, and proper adjustments, * Report any needed repairs or issues with equipment to the supervisor immediately to prevent delays or quality defects. * Follow established company housekeeping practices, keeping the work area clean, organized, and safe * Accurately log production data and complete necessary paperwork for work orders and machine operation * Ensure compliance with safety protocols and standards at all times Additional Responsibilities: * Provide feedback to supervisors regarding potential improvements in equipment performance or process efficiency. * Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at optimizing productivity and product quality. * Maintain communication with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and adherence to production schedules. This individual will be in charge of setting up the machine, operating the machine, and tend machines to cut, punch, crimp, notch, bend, material according to desired specification for Jamco Products. RESPONSIBILITIES Read work orders and production schedules to determine specifications, such as materials to be used, locations of cutting/folding lines, and dimensions and tolerances. Position guides, stops, holding blocks, or other fixtures to secure and direct work pieces, using hand tools and measuring devices. Inspect final product to assess quality and improve machine settings. Inspects product to verify conformance to customer specifications, including proper application of ingredients/materials. Analyzes production problems and assists team members in solving them. Responsible for QA control procedures and activities such as weight control, metal detector inspections, etc. Communicate and notify any equipment abnormalities, following the 5 maintenance basics. (5S, leaks, lubrication, routing and re-tight). Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of department, line or team. Maintain records and prepare necessary reports. Follow plant good manufacturing practices (GMP's). Operates auxiliary equipment associated with the operations of the machine including but not limited to weigh scales, conveyor systems, etc. Ensures that all work activities are performed with attention to the highest standards for quality, safety and compliance with all appropriate legal and food safety requirements and a focus on continuous improvement.
