Under general supervision, this position is responsible for researching, documenting and developing detailed operator, maintenance and troubleshooting procedures, checklists, technical specifications, alert bulletins, training materials and other procedures and reports. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Collects and accumulates appropriate technical information through researching and analyzing technical data and publications, engineering drawings, test procedures, design specifications/documentation, software description documents, engineering documents and by interviewing technical experts.
* Ensures documents are developed in accordance with the requested specifications and contractual requirements, including development of any necessary illustrations, photographs, or other graphic representations.
* Coordinates technical document reviews and approval signatures, which may include appropriate security classification prior to document distribution.
* May participate in recommending new and/or modifications to documentation/communication policies and procedures.
* May present document(s) to customers and program management staff, make related presentations, and may assist in the document security classification process.
* Plans, coordinates and leads efforts of a small team to complete a project.
* Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
* Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating practices and procedures.

The TechnicalWriter ensures all documents are accurate, consistent, fully traceable, and suitable for internal technical use.
This position is part of a team that provides on-site M&S support to establish and deliver high-end Advanced Tactics, Training, and Test capability for Government personnel operating under USAFWC/ACC; Provide mission execution and support to broad range of JITTC-N simulator activities and JSE. The selected candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and be capable of designing and developing and documenting network and systems.
What You Will Do
Data Collection and Research
+ Engage with engineers, developers, system administrators, and operators to collect accurate technical information.
+ Observe system operations, integration activities, troubleshooting sessions, and technical demonstrations to record detailed data.
+ Maintain a comprehensive understanding of assigned systems to ensure documentation reflects actual operational behavior.
+ Conduct document interviews with subject matter experts to extract procedural and technical details.
Document Development and Production
+ Create, update, and maintain technical documentation including installation guides, test procedures, troubleshooting steps, operational workflows, system summaries, after-action captures, and configuration references.
+ Standardize all document formatting across headers, footers, fonts, tables, figure references, terminology, and numbering.
+ Generate checklists, process flows, and supporting forms to accompany technical procedures.
+ Maintain version control, including change tracking and document revision histories.
Quality Control and Review Support
+ Conduct first line quality reviews of all documents to verify accuracy, readability, formatting compliance, and adherence to defined templates.
+ Support and facilitate review coordination with subject matter experts to ensure technical accuracy.
+ Track document progress and review status within the document management tracker.
Technical Process Capture
+ Observe test events, integration sessions, troubleshooting efforts, and system bring up activities to capture technical steps in real time.
+ Translate complex technical language into clear procedural instructions suitable for managers and operators.
+ Identify gaps in existing documentation and proactively propose content improvements.
Stakeholder Coordination
+ Work closely with government and contractor stakeholders to ensure documentation expectations and formatting standards are met.
+ Collaborate with engineering teams to verify technical accuracy and resolve discrepancies discovered during writing or review.
+ Participate in project kickoff meetings and documentation planning sessions as required.
What You Must Have
+ 6 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience.
+ Experience producing technical documentation in a structured environment.
+ Ability to write system engineering reports, software development reports, manuals, presentations, etc. to include design, development, and test/user documentation.
+ Ability to define manageable CM processes (check-out/check-in, build, release, etc.) and implement them.
+ Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office, Excel, Windows, and Linux operating systems.
+ Excellent communication skills both verbal and written are required.
+ Must have had an active Top Secret clearance within the last 24 months.
+ Ability to obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI clearance, with supporting SAP/SPR clearances.
+ Work Environment: Position is not eligible for remote work; on-site support is required.

+ Familiarity with networking, cyber, A/V, or simulation systems.

+ Ability to translate technical team terminology into polished, manager-ready documentation.
Physical Requirements
