General Physician, P.C. is recruiting for a Nurse Practitioner or PhysicianAssistant to join our Primary Care Service Line to provide patient care in Depew, NY. In this position you will deliver evidenced based care for Primary Care patients in coordination with the Primary Care team. This is an autonomous position that will allow you to provide a full spectrum of comprehensive medical services to patients that are partners with General Physician, PC.
This is a full-time position, scheduled Monday through Friday in the Buffalo area.
Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited NP or PA program;
Prior inpatient, high acuity experience preferred as a RN or APP.
Board certification
New York State license
DEA registration
BLS, ACLS and Infection Control certifications.
A clinical background in geriatric, adult or family medicine is preferred.

We provide comprehensive Interventional Pain Management services, prescribing medication management without assuming primary opioid prescribing responsibility and education in an ambulatory setting in Saratoga Springs, just off Exit 15 of Route 87. The center is located upstairs from Saratoga Surgery Center.
The advanced practitioner in this role will perform initial history and follow-up examinations and provide ongoing care, order diagnostic tests and consultations, and provide education and counseling to patients and families. Experience in primary care or prior pain management experience, is preferred.

The Nurse Practitioner or PhysicianAssistant serves as an additional patient care provider, augmenting and extending patient services provided by the health care team. Maintains current level of knowledge relative to professional practice.

What you will be doing
Competencies/Duties:
Provide clinical consultation, assessment, and management to patients.
Conduct outpatient evaluation, treatment and follow-up of surgical patients as directed by the supervising physician.
Provide pre and post-operative and discharge education to patients and family members with regards to safety issues when applicable (e.g., medication, post-operative precautions, use of equipment, etc.).
Review/interpret patient imaging and lab results; communicate results to patients and provide follow-up treatment and education.
Communicate effectively and appropriately when educating patient/family in regard to their medical condition and/or hospital course.
Document progress patient has made toward desired outcomes.
Utilize the computerized order communication system, including transcription of medical orders, retrieval of test results and documentation of results.
Maintain clear and legible history and physical documentation and all other written reports.
Work independently on assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
Complete any relevant patient paperwork such as medication prior authorizations, plan of care, etc.
Potential to assist surgeon in operating room.
Promote cooperation through teamwork.
Other duties as needed for effective and safe patient care.
Requirements:
Master?s or doctoral degree from an accredited physicianassistant school or school of nursing
Licensure as an FNP and RN or PA in the state of NY
Board certification as an FNP or PA

2+ years of PA/NP experience; experience in managing patients with low back pain preferred
Ability to prioritize issues, resolve conflicts and communicate with all levels of the organization

Under a physician's supervision, the NP/PA is responsible for the delivery of a broad range of medical services, including taking medical histories, conducting physical examinations, ordering diagnostic tests, administering treatments, monitoring patients, prescribing medications, assistingphysicians, and counseling and educating patients.
