GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Perform professional and highly responsible duties in evaluating mental and emotional disorders of criminal justice involved individuals, administering programs of treatment, including individual and group therapy; crisis intervention and disposition; provide therapy for mentally ill adults to assist them in functioning in their environment; serve as resource for less senior staff; work under the general supervision of the Director of Crisis Services; performs related work as required.

Michigan Master's Level Social Worker (LMSW) credential, Clinical
Three (3) years' experience working with adults with mental illness, developmental disabilities and/or co-occurring disorders.
Master's Degree in Psychology
Michigan Limited License Psychologist (LLP) credential or Licensed Psychologist (LP). Will consider a candidate with a Temporary Limited License Psychologist (TLLP) credential
Three (3) years' experience working with adults with mental illness, developmental disabilities and/or co-occurring disorders.
The employee with a TLLP must pass the Exam for Professional Practice in Psychology (EPP) AND make application for the LLP within 18 months of hire OR prior to the expiration of the TLLP, whichever is sooner to retain employment.
Master's in Counseling
Michigan License Professional Counselor (LPC) credential
Three (3) years' experience working with adults with mental illness, developmental disabilities and/or co-occurring disorders.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess a valid Michigan driver's license, current automobile insurance, and the use of a vehicle during work hours.
Employee must maintain valid clinical licensure to retain employment.
Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, or irregular hours including on call responsibilities.
PREFERENCES:
Minimum of 3 years of experience providing crisis services to include crisis assessment, safety screening, and/or safety planning.
Certification in Addiction Counseling (CAC) or in the process to become a Certified Co-Occurring Disorders Professional - Diplomat (CCDP-D) OR a certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC) through the Michigan Certification Board for Addiction Professionals (MCBAP) within 30 days of hire, unless currently certified as a CCDP-D, CAADC, Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CCADC), or a current development plan for CCDP-D or CAADC with MCBAP.
Essential Physical Demands:
Vision - Position requires the ability to visually assess details at both near and far distances, as well as to perceive depth and spatial relationships with or without reasonable accommodations.

Position Summary:
The Therapist I provides individual, group and group therapy sessions for clients in an Intensive Outpatient and Partial Hospitalization mental health facility. Therapists assess the therapeutic needs of clients, develop appropriate treatment plans, and facilitate group, family and individual therapy sessions. Position collaborates with clients, team members, external clinical partners and family members, as appropriate, to coordinate care throughout the treatment process.
Essential Responsibilities:
Facilitates group, family and individual therapy sessions in accordance with the clinical program schedule.
Completes psychosocial evaluations, treatment plans, contact logs, discharge plans and other reports in compliance with State, accrediting bodies, quality guidelines and payor source guidelines.
Completes all necessary documentation within prescribed format and timelines.
Ensures documentation reflects ongoing assessments of client's clinical presentation and behaviors.
Facilitates specialized groups as assigned based on education, training, and experience; supervises and/or co-leads groups with clinical interns, when appropriate.
Selects appropriate interventions to meet the clinical needs of individual clients.
Maintains therapeutic relationships with clients using praise and other reinforcers to encourage appropriate behaviors and attitudes.
Sets limits and holds boundaries in a kind and firm manner.
Conducts effective verbal crisis intervention and de-escalation involving other team members, as needed.
Collaborates with an interdisciplinary treatment team to coordinate client care from admission through discharge.
Attends clinical, consultation, and operations meetings; serves as a clinical advocate for assigned cases.
Communicates client progress with the referral sources, families, parents and/or guardians, as appropriate.
Addresses clients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in a welcoming and respectful manner.
Responds to clients and families with empathy and positive professional skills.
What We Are Seeking:
Position requires a master's degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, counseling or psychology. Must hold a (LPC, LMFT, LCSW, LP, LLPC, or LLP) , in good standing, within the state of Michigan. Requires minimum of 2 years' of experience working with clients with a primary mental health diagnosis.
Other Requirements:
Requires clearance of TB test, criminal background check clearance, and any other mandatory state/federal requirements.
Current CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to complete within 30 days of start date.

General Statement:
Under the direction of the Program Supervisor, performs office, home, and
community based therapeutic services for child/adolescents and their
families; services include individual, group, family, interactive therapy, evidence
based therapies and practices, case management/crisis intervention, and the
coordination of multiple services and supports, performs related work as
required.
Minimum Requirements:
Masters in Social Work and Michigan Master Level Social Worker (LMSW) credential, Clinical. Will consider a candidate with a Limited License as a Masters Level Social Worker (LLMSW) credential AND one (1) year of experience working with children, adolescents and their families in a clinical setting, OR a candidate with a Master's degree in a human service field (defined as Counseling/Guidance or Psychology), who also must possess a Master Level Social Worker (LMSW) credential AND one (1) yearof experience working with children, adolescents and their families in a clinical setting. The employee with a Limited License (LLMSW) must take and pass the ASWB Examination within six (6) years in accordance with the State of Michigan requirements to retain employment.

OR
Masters in Psychology and Michigan Limited License Psychologist (LLP) credential OR a Temporary Limited License Psychologist (TLLP) credential AND one (1) year of experience working with children, adolescents and their families in a clinical setting. The employee with a TLLP must make application for the LLP upon completion of 2000 hours in order to retain employment. All Masters level psych The employee with a TLLP must pass the Exam for Professional Practice in Psychology (EPP) AND make application for the LLP within 18 months of hire OR prior to the expiration of the TLLP, whichever is sooner to retain employment.

Masters in Counseling and Michigan License Professional Counselor (LPC) credential OR a Limited License as a License Professional Counselor (LLPC) credential AND one 1) year of experience working with children, adolescents and their families in a clinical setting. The employee with an LLPC must take and pass the National Counselor Examination (NCE) within four (4) years of hire to retain employment. The employee with an LLPC must take and pass the National Counselor Examination (NCE) within six (6) years of hire to retain employment. The employee with an LLPC must also make application for the LPC upon passing the NCE.
