QUALITY INTERN
IMPACT and OPPORTUNITY
The Global Quality Systems & Digital Transformation Intern will play a key role in advancing the company's initiatives to harmonize global quality processes and digital platforms. This position provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with the integration of Power Platform tools (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Pages) and quality management systems (IATF 16949, ISO 9001). ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Support the design, testing, and deployment of enhancements in audit and management system applications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

On the Autonomy Software V&V team, you will work on fleet metrics, behavior analysis, and performance evaluation of our autonomous vehicles. Analyze real-world driving data to identify patterns, measure autonomy performance, and inform stack improvements. Contribute to metrics platforms that track miles-per-disengagement, driving behavior clusters (PUDO, lane changes, pullovers), and safety-critical events across our L3 development and production service fleets.
On the Core Data Science team, you will provide data solutions to deliver domain specific analytical insights. In this role, you will have the opportunity to perform data analysis to develop and validate the simulation framework evaluating Zoox's autonomous driving software. You collaborate with key stakeholders in the Simulation team to gain insight into the safety and comfort performance of our robotaxi. The work is located in southwest Ohio and will be based out of one of our three newsrooms - Dayton, Springfield or Hamilton. Work assignments will be determined after final selection based on the intern's abilities and stated interests and newsroom needs.
Each paid internship is approximately 20 hours per week for 10 weeks. The exact start and stop dates, as well as the intern's weekly schedule, will be determined before the internship begins based on the intern's needs and company needs.

**Your day-to-day**
Intern project assignments are focused on our World Class Manufacturing methodology and could be in areas such as:

Duties:
Help solve design issues by utilizing the Basic Engineering Process (BEP) process and knowledge of lean engineering. Complete A3's which were presented in weekly and executive design reviews for these issues.
Help prepare documentation and gather data for engineering xSO signoff. Exposure to the product development process and interact with Subject Matter Technical Experts (SMTEs) throughout the assignment.
Support issue resolution and on-time execution for DV & PV testing phases by coordinating test timing, seat builds, and teardowns. This exposure allows for acquisition of knowledge in seat regulations, strength, durability, and tactical planning.
Support customer and DV/PV test builds here in Plymouth. Exposure to Design For Assembly and Manufacturing (DFAM) principles. Gain understanding of the interaction between design and manufacturing in product development and key cost drivers.
Acquire knowledge in Design for Cost to evaluate various engineering design changes in CAD while at the same time understanding the cost impact of those changes. This enables the team to assess the impact of changes in the ideation phase while still understanding a high-level cost impact of those changes.
Other position requirements:
Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university and working towards a 4-year B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Available to work up to 40 hours per week
Minimum overall GPA of at least 3.0.
Previous internship or co-op experience in automotive related position an added plus
CAD experience CATIA or Unigraphics an added plus.
Solid analytical skills and work effectively with customers, suppliers, and the development team.
