As this position requires the most face to face time with our customers, Route Drivers are required to maintain themselves professionally, both in appearance and actions, at all times while performing company business. Route Drivers are responsible for: - Loading/Unloading their truck with customer goods - Safe operation of the company truck at all times - Properly utilizing laundry management system to ensure truck contents are documented at all times - Effective communication with customers, staff, and management - Timely delivery of all goods, both to the customer and also to the plant - Maintaining required licensure and certification Route Drivers must have at least a year of experience operating a 26' box truck or larger. Drivers are also required to have a valid driver's license and medical DOT card. Motor Vehicle points in excess of two (2) could impact eligibility for the position. Pick up and delivery of product to customer or STTC locations via a truck. The Route Driver must be committed to delivering prompt, courteous and professional service to our customers and stores. Essential Job Functions (include the following. Other duties may be assigned.) • Drive a box truck or tractor trailer to deliver tires and/or wheels to a customer's place of business or another STTC location. • Load and unload tires and wheels. • Ensure accuracy on delivery invoices. • Issue or obtain customer signature on invoice/receipt for pickup or delivery. • Correctly fill out and attach tag or labels to tires. Ensure all retread tires have a tag or label on them before loading. • Maintain cleanliness of inside and outside of truck. • Complete daily mileage and pickup reports and turn them in each day. • Perform daily routine maintenance on truck to insure the vehicle is safe. • Perform all tasks in a safe and efficient manner. Use all provided safety equipment (seat belts), and communicate equipment needs. Report mechanical problems in need of repair. Report all unsafe actions, problems or abnormal situations to Branch Manager. • Ensure that all products leave with proper paperwork. Report to Manager any attempts made by an employee who violates any safety rule or violates company policy/procedures. • As needed, perform miscellaneous job duties to ensure prompt services to our customer. • Ensure that VMR, driver's log, pre/post trip truck inspections are complete and turned in weekly. The Non-CDL, Medical Card required Truck Driver will deliver parts to a pre-determined group of stores and warehouses. The driver should strive to make deliveries in a timely manner, while following all federal, state, and local laws and company policies. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Deliver orders and pick up returns safely and accurately to and from stores and/or warehouses via driving a vehicle; Required to load (with assistance if available) and unload (without assistance) all product for assigned vehicle; Required to conduct a daily inspection of vehicle and report any and all deficiencies and/or defects immediately to direct Supervisor. Provide basic vehicle care and maintenance. Maintain accurate driving log; Maintain a valid CDL driver's license with any required HAZMAT endorsement and driving record which meets underwriting standards.
