    The Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, environmentally responsible handling of material and operation of equipment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES Move bulk and break-bulk material and cargo, and/or load trucks, with heavy equipment Operate all equipment safely and efficiently. Complete daily equipment checklist of equipment for any issues. Perform general labor tasks to assist with material processing, property maintenance, pile maintenance, or other projects as needed. Perform general labor tasks associated with the use, care, cleaning, and maintenance of the equipment and facility. Perform daily clean-up of the work site. Assist in removal and closing up of barge tops. Follow all safety and operational policies, regulations, and programs. Successfully complete all required training programs. Interact effectively with other employees. Perform other duties as assigned and assist other staff as needed. QUALIFICATIONS: HS Diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license and transportation required. Minimum 3 years' experience operating heavy equipment including: front-end loader , bulldozer, excavator, and heavy forklift. Ability to safely lift 50 lbs. Good communication skills. Ability to work varied hours including weekends, holidays, evenings, and/or overnight shifts required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to stand; walk; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk with alternate standing. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is subject to a dry, sometimes dusty warehouse environment . The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
