In addition, Prepares room and equipment for patient treatments including set‐up of immobilization devices, field size, treatment distance, shielding devices, etc. + Simulates a course of treatment by defining and identifying tumor volume, target volume and treatment volume as directed and prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist. + Administer therapy treatments in the delivery of a planned course of treatment to adult patients. Monitor, and report, undesirable effects, reactions, therapeutic responses and incompatibilities. Monitor doses to normal tissues within the treatment field to assure that tolerance levels are not exceeded. + Provide on-call duty as required. + Monitors patient and equipment during treatment and/or simulation reporting any unusual circumstances, such as patient movement, equipment malfunction, etc. + Completes daily quality checks on treatment and simulator equipment. Maintains accurate documentation of quality checks. Quality Control * Consistently produces acceptable images, as evidenced by radiologist feedback and quality audits * Ensures that equipment is fully operational prior to each use, by checking for proper calibration and operating deficiencies. * Sends all studies to PACS immediately after completion, prints CDs as needed. * Studies that have been reported after hours by teleradiography are printed and scanned into PACS, if applicable. * Completes all studies in RIS before completing in PACS. * Prints completed log sheet from teleradiography and submits to Radiologist, if applicable Operations * Restocks linens and supplies, and maintains the department in clean and orderly condition. * Transports patients, positions patients, and helps them on and off procedure table. * Performs patient charging activities on the day the service is rendered. * Applies shielding, supportive and immobilization devices and equipment. * Willingly lends knowledge and assistance to others upon request as needed and routinely as time is available, without prompting, so that all working time is used for departmental advantage. * Performs routine duties of clerical and support personnel in accordance with procedure when warranted to ensure continuity and quality of services. * Keeps supervisor informed on all responsibilities on an ongoing basis, ensuring prompt notification in the event of problems or potential problems. * Maintains an individual productivity rate equal to other co-workers. * Ability to operate all work stations associated with the CT department. * Ability to push / retrieve images from the CT console to PACS. * Maintain Joint Commission standards and any other regulatory agency standards. * Takes call when necessary * Any other duties as assigned. Shift: Variable/PRN Setting: Radiation Therapy The Radiation Therapist, under the general supervision of a Radiation Oncologist, performs radiation therapy procedures on ambulatory and hospital patients as requested by a physician or other licensed provider for the diagnosis of disease and injury in accordance with established protocols. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE Performs high-quality radiation therapy procedures, according to exam protocol, in a timely manner. Maintains production and quality of imaging procedures by following established standards and procedures. Utilizes AIDET when communicating with patients to identify patient service requirements, ensure the correct exam is performed on the correct patient, and establish rapport with patients and others. Instructs and communicates with patients and their families regarding the test to be performed and assesses patient's ability to tolerate the exam. Prepares patient and area for the procedure by positioning patient, adjusting immobilization devices, moving equipment into specified position, and adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors. Protects patients and employees by adhering to safety requirements, infection control, drug and radiation policies, protocols, and techniques. Uses proper sterile techniques when setting up and performing invasive multimodality procedures and maintains hand hygiene requirements. Operate and maintain all imaging department equipment including but not limited to X-Ray, CT, CR reader, and PACS Perform all imaging exams in accordance with established policies, procedures, regulations, and laws and ensure the physician on duty is notified of the results Perform basic clinical procedures under the direction of the physician and/or nurse on duty Maintain all required documentation, logs, charts, forms and records in paper and electronic formats Collect laboratory samples and perform lab testing in accordance with established policies and procedures, as well as COLA and CLIA regulations Maintain an adequate supply of all reagents and consumables to perform quality testing Perform all routine daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic maintenance and function checks following established protocol for all imaging equipment Perform Quality Control as established by this laboratory Perform Proficiency Testing and/or Split Sample analysis periodically as established by this facility Retain records of all analytic activities performed for a minimum of two years Perform all Quality Assessment activities assigned to this position and document these activities for periodic review by the Laboratory Supervisor and/or the Laboratory Director Other Job Functions: Perform duties as ER Technician as needed Maintain an adequate supply of all reagents and consumables to perform quality testing Perform all routine daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic maintenance and function checks following established protocol for all imaging equipment Travel to all facility locations as required Attend staff meetings or other company sponsored or mandated meetings as required Perform additional duties as assigned Basic Qualifications: High School diploma or GED, required Graduation from an AMA-approved school of Radiology Technology, required Associate's degree in Radiology, preferred Certified as a medical radiologic technologist as required by the state in which practicing required Registered Technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in radiography required Registered Technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in computed tomography, preferred, with the following exceptions CT certification required (Las Vegas Market) CT certification required within 12 months of hire (Pennsylvania market) Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association, required 2+ years radiologic/imaging experience, preferred 1+ years of CT experience, preferred 1+ years of emergency room experience, preferred Proficiency with most X-ray/CT equipment, manufacturer's hardware/software and PACS Position requires fluency in English, written and oral communication

Hours: 7:30 - 4 pm (most Tuesdays and Thursdays unless patient volumes are low, would also cover when one of the full time therapists takes time off. Normally it would be about 16 hours a week. The Radiation Therapist, under the general supervision of a Radiation Oncologist, performs radiation therapy procedures on ambulatory and hospital patients as requested by a physician or other licensed provider for the diagnosis of disease and injury in accordance with established protocols. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE Performs high-quality radiation therapy procedures, according to exam protocol, in a timely manner. Maintains production and quality of imaging procedures by following established standards and procedures. Utilizes AIDET when communicating with patients to identify patient service requirements, ensure the correct exam is performed on the correct patient, and establish rapport with patients and others. Instructs and communicates with patients and their families regarding the test to be performed and assesses patient's ability to tolerate the exam. Prepares patient and area for the procedure by positioning patient, adjusting immobilization devices, moving equipment into specified position, and adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors. Protects patients and employees by adhering to safety requirements, infection control, drug and radiation policies, protocols, and techniques. Uses proper sterile techniques when setting up and performing invasive multimodality procedures and maintains hand hygiene requirements. Maintains equipment and work area to meet quality and cleanliness standards. Works with engineers and physicists to ensure optimal operational capabilities of the equipment. Reports issues to management or the appropriate department. Assists in maintaining supplies inventory. Ensures people are safe to enter the department by screening them according to approved policies and procedures. Obtains, verifies, and maintains all relevant documentation such as requisition/chart, patient history, pregnancy status, and shielding precautions taken, consent forms, policies, procedures, etc. Maintains medical imaging records in the appropriate system and according to department policies and standards for interpretation in a timely manner. Demonstrates and maintains current knowledge, continued education, and skills appropriate care for the following age groups (specific to department): newborn, pediatric, young adult, adult, and geriatric.
