    The Intern, Clinical Services assists Therapist Staff with individual, group and family therapy with clients. Assists Occupational Therapists with initial assessments, treatment planning, ongoing case management, discharge planning and aftercare development on cases. Assist the Occupational Therapists with documentation of treatment interventions and results in case records on a timely basis. Assists with the appropriate and ongoing training of direct care staff working with assigned team(s). Participates in child and family team meetings and coordinates ongoing treatment on assigned teams. Assists Occupational Therapists with ongoing projects, research and program administration as needed. Works with other departments as needed. This positions does not have direct reports. Essential Functions Assists Therapist Staff with: * Initial treatment assessments and formulations (developmental assessments; interviews with clients, parents and significant others to obtain data on the clients's personal, social, developmental, and emotional history; timely completion, etc.). * Occupational Therapy delivery (individual and family). * Case Management (treatment interventions and case coordination with other disciplines.) * Communication with clients (Referral sources, parents/guardians, school officials, etc.). * Timeliness of all necessary documentation (session progress notes, contact calls, monthly summaries, discharge summaries, special notes, orders etc.). * Assistance with ongoing projects and other disciplines such as the Wellness Committee and Playroom. * Assists Therapist Staff in completing all necessary documentation in medical records, including monthly summaries, discharge summaries, therapy session notes, special notes an contact calls in a timely thorough and professional manner * Attend weekly supervision meetings to discuss case conceptualization, review treatment goals, discuss problems or obstacles to progress, exchange ideas for intervention strategies, provide clinical training, and to assist with difficult or problem families/cases. * Attend child and family team meetings on assigned cases, review treatment coordination of treatment interventions for child and family teams. * Assist in the clinical training and therapeutic skill development of direct Care Workers including clinical training on theory, diagnoses, intervention strategies and interactive styles/patterns. * Consistently exercise sound, independent judgment and adequate emotional stability in evaluating situations and making decisions despite the pressures of deadlines or the occurrence of unexpected stressful events. * Participate on committees and in professional meetings as necessary for the overall development and function of the program. * Assures consistency in dealing in a tactful and harmonious fashion with staff, residents, and the public and to adhere to and follow all policies and procedures * Carries out other duties as assigned.
