As an intern, you will work closely with museum staff to implement curatorial activities related to collections and exhibits. Work involves: Participating in artifact cataloging Researching and drafting responses to basic research inquiries Assisting curators with Anthracite Heritage Museum inventory Conducting basic research and installing small museum exhibits Assisting curators with Argus public facing entries Assisting with public tours and other education duties as needed Make the most of this internship by identifying and understanding the areas where you want to grow within the museum profession! Work Schedule and Additional Information: 10 week internship, May 2026 through August 2026, approximately 225 to 300 hours Work hours are flexible and will be finalized between selected interns and their supervisor. Additional Requirements: You must be able and willing to report to Scranton, PA during the Summer Keystone Internship dates, which will be a 10-week period between May 11, 2026 and August 21, 2026. Lodging and transportation will not be provided. You must be majoring, minoring or have a concentration in History, Public History, Museum Studies, Library and Information Sciences, Archeology, Anthropology, Material Culture, or closely related fields. You must have a GPA of 2.5 or above. You must be able to perform essential job functions. Legal Requirements: This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
