Job Description:
To support the research and development of next generation fuel cell technologies, our client is currently seeking a highly motivated candidate to fill a position as a Fuel Cell Research Scientist.
This position is currently in one year renewal basis with anticipation of 3+ years of research opportunity.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate should have direct knowledge and experience in synthesizing electrocatalysts and fabricating MEAs/CCMs for fuel cells or PEM water electrolyzer.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Design and synthesize nano-sized PGM ORR catalysts for low-temperature fuel cells.
Conduct half-cell measurements using Rotating Disk Electrode (RDE) and full-cell testing using Membrane Electrode Assemblies (MEAs)
Perform Accelerated Stress Tests (AST) to evaluate durability, including catalyst dissolution and carbon support corrosion
Support related projects, involving water electrolysis projects, as needed.
Prepare and evaluate technical plans, reports, presentations, and proposals to support project success

Qualifications:
Ph.D. or equivalent in in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with 4 years or more of related experience
Solid knowledge on electrocatalyst synthesis, MEA fabrication and testing for fuel cells and/or water electrolyzer
Hands-on experience on synthesis and characterization of non-PGM catalysts and/or OER catalysts is preferred
Demonstrated ability to work efficiently within a multidisciplinary team

The Acoustic Research Scientist performs duties in design, development, and testing of underwater acoustic transducers including hydrophones and projectors in a research and development atmosphere. The position combines elements of mechanical, electrical, and acoustic engineering. The candidate shall have the ability to design test scenarios, analyze test data, and assess compliance with respect to the overall system requirements. The ideal candidate will have expertise in frequency and time domain signal processing, beamforming, filtering, noise analysis, statistical analysis, and sonar processing methodologies for both passive and active systems.
Essential Functions*
Interface with SeaLandAire (SLA) project teams and customers during requirements definition, project feasibility assessment, and acoustic performance verification
Collaborate across teams to design and develop acoustic transducers to meet performance requirements
Maintain knowledge of current transducer technology and provide analysis of various design trades
Design and execute tests to characterize and validate the performance of acoustic systems
Write and/or contribute to proposals, test reports, and status updates
Analyze test data to quickly summarize the system performance of acoustic transducers
Interface with System, Mechanical, Electrical Engineers and CAD Design Groups effectively

What You'll Do
Work alongside machine learning researchers, engineers, and product managers to bring our AI Voices to their customers for a diverse range of use cases
Deploy and operate the core ML inference workloads for our AI Voices serving pipeline
Introduce new techniques, tools, and architecture that improve the performance, latency, throughput, and efficiency of our deployed models
Build tools to give us visibility into our bottlenecks and sources of instability and then design and implement solutions to address the highest priority issues
An Ideal Candidate Should Have
Experience shipping Python-based services
Experience being responsible for the successful operation of a critical production service
Experience with public cloud environments, GCP preferred
Experience with Infrastructure such as Code, Docker, and containerized deployments.
Preferred: Experience deploying high-availability applications on Kubernetes.
Preferred: Experience deploying ML models to production
