What You'll Do
The Registered Nurse works at our main hospital campus, reporting directly to the Emergency Department Director. In this role, you'll provide professional, compassionate care to patients in a Level IV emergency department. As a rural health facility, our ED sees a wide variety of cases-some routine, some unexpected-offering an opportunity to use strong critical thinking and broad clinical skills while caring for patients and families in our community.
Triages each patient and determines priority of care based on physical, psychological, and social needs.
Records patient histories, performs various diagnostic tests, administers medications, and develops patient care plans in conjunction with other medical professionals.
Assists physicians during examinations and emergency procedures, operating and monitoring medical equipment as necessary.
Observes patients' progress, records observations in patient medical record, and updates attending physician directly when necessary.
The RN assists in the maintenance of health and the prevention or management of illness, injury and disability.
Performs a variety of tasks and other duties as assigned.
Who We're Looking For
Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing.
Active license in the State of Colorado as an RN.
Must have an American Heart Association BLS card within 3 months of initial employment and maintain current status throughout GRHD employment.
American Heart Association ACLS, PALS or ENPC and TNCC certifications are required within 6 months of initial employment and must be maintained throughout GRHD employment.
One year of professional nursing experience in an emergency department setting preferred.

BASIC FUNCTION: As a valued member of the nursing team, the Registered Nurse - Float will commence their shift within a specific department and may be reassigned based on changes in census and acuity to ensure operational efficiency. Delivers comprehensive care, administers medications (including intravenous medications), monitors vital signs, and collaborates with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
Provides education, advocates for patients'/residents' needs, and contributes to health promotion and illness prevention efforts.
Offers counseling and health education to patients/residents
Provides support to patients/residents including bandage maintenance, pain management, and ensuring they receive adequate rest, fluids and nutrients.
Observes patients'/residents' progress, records observations in patient medical records, and updates attending physicians directly when necessary.
Assists in the maintenance of health and the prevention or management of illness, injury and disability.
Performs a variety of tasks and other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing.
Valid registration as a Registered Nurse in the State of Colorado required.
Must have current BLS card upon hire. Position also requires ACLS, PALS or ENPC certification within 6 months of initial employment.
Position may require TNCC certification to work in the Emergency Department within 6 months of employment
At least one year experience in two or more nursing specialty areas (Long Term Care, Emergency Department, Med/Surg, Perioperative Services, etc.) preferred.
SALARY INFORMATION:
$36.60 - $56.55 Dependent on experience may vary outside this range
Additional $2.00 - $4.00 an hour for additional weekend and night shifts
