6:45AM-7:15PM 3 12 hour shifts a week including every other weekend. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, performs specific assigned duties in providing patient care for critically ill patients in accordance with established SRH and Nursing Services Policies and Standard Work. Functions in a supportive role to communicate patient care needs and resolve work-related issues. Performs any other job-related duties as requested by Nurse Manager or Department Director. Special Qualifications High School graduate or equivalent. Current S.C Nurse Aide Certification OR passed fundamentals in RN/LPN school OR completed Surg Tech or EMT course OR completed 2 year Health Science Technology Program OR completed Patient Care Tech course (with CNA certification). BLS certified.

The Nursing Assistant provides compassionate patient care to a diverse age group of patients with a variety of medical and/or surgical conditions. This individual provides direct patient care and works collaboratively with other patient care team members including the patient and family, to achieve optimal patient outcomes. The Nursing Assistant assists with activities of daily living and delegates patient care treatments and procedures. The Nursing Assistant has access to confidential patient information and carries out their assignments under the guidance of a licensed nurse. Minimum Education Requirement Must be a high school graduate or have a GED Diploma. Minimum Experience Requirement Two years prior experience in a physician office or medical setting preferred. Experience with infusion services highly desired. Strong understanding of health insurance and it impact on billing. Knowledge of the prior authorization process. Knowledge of medical terminology and ICD-10/CPT coding. Must be patient centered and possess excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills. Ability to be organized, work independently, exhibit mature judgement and make sound decisions. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including work, Excel, and Outlook. Under the direction of the Registered Nurse, the Nursing Student Patient Care Technician (PCT) provides direct care to patients and families in a developmentally, culturally, and ethically appropriate manner. The Nursing Student PCT contributes to the provision of high-quality, cost-effective health care through direct care of patients and in collaboration with other health team members. The Nursing Student PCT ensures confidentiality of all patient information, utilizes safe patient handling at all times and maintains communication with the RN of activities performed, observations, and status changes in the patient.This role will contribute to a neat and clean patient environment and assist in providing high quality, compassionate, cost effective healthcare. Assists with patient ambulation in room, hall and bathroom and transports patients according to established safety guidelines. Assists in feeding patients, offering fluids and snacks, recording amounts consumed. Responds to call lights and requests from patient/family in a timely manner. Assists with stocking supplies and maintains clean working environment. Assists co-workers and health care providers to meet patient care needs. Performs point of care testing as trained and delegated by RN. Reports lab values to RN. Documents vital signs accurately and informs nurse of any change in patient status. Provides and documents compassionate comfort and non-pharmacological pain management measures. Performs other duties as assigned. Supervisory/Management Responsibility This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive. Minimum Requirements Education - Enrolled in an accredited Registered Nursing Program. Must have completed Nursing Fundamentals coursework (verified by transcript). Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
