Gundersen Health System is seeking Registered Nurses for our 18-bed Medical Surgical Unit. This is your chance to deliver exceptional, patient- and family-centered care in a supportive, healing environment-while doing the work you love in one of the most scenic areas of the Midwest.
What you will work: Variety of hours/shifts available
0.6 fte; 48 hour every two weeks, 12-hour shifts rotating day and night shifts, every third weekend and holiday

What you will do:
Provide LOVE + MEDICINE to both inpatient and observation patients.
Care for a wide array of medical surgical patients with diagnosis such as CHF, COPD, Cellulitis, Weakness, Infections as well as some medically stable patients
Work with an interdisciplinary team of clinicians, social workers, dietitians, CNAs, and RNs

Join our Ophthalmology (Eye) Clinic team as a Registered Nurse providing specialized care for patients undergoing eye injections and diagnostic procedures. This role offers autonomy, collaboration with providers, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping preserve patients' vision.
Location: La Crosse, WI (with outreach to Onalaska, WI and Winona, MN)
Hours: 0.9 FTE, 72 hours every two weeks
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts between the hours of 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
What you will do:
Prepare patients for eye injections, including numbing and assisting providers during procedures.
Perform IV starts and administer dye for Fluorescein angiography.
Complete documentation and ensure injections meet insurance timing requirements.
Conduct patient phone calls and triage as needed.
Collaborate closely with ophthalmic assistants, technicians, and schedulers.
Outreach 2-3 times a month per nurse to Onalaska, WI and Winona, MN

Ready to step out of the classroom and into real-world nursing? Emplify Health by Gundersen invites you to apply for our 46th Annual Nurse Internship Program - a 10-week, paid summer experience designed to sharpen your clinical skills and boost your confidence.
Whether you're fresh off a clinical rotation or still learning how to juggle care plans and sleep schedules, this internship meets you where you are - and helps you grow from there.
As a Nurse Intern, you'll work side-by-side with experienced nurses and healthcare professionals across a variety of settings, from med/surg units to specialty departments and outpatient clinics. You'll gain hands-on experience in clinical judgment, interdisciplinary communication, and critical thinking - all while gaining a competitive edge for your final semester(s) and future career.
Bonus: Exceptional interns may be considered for continued employment, and potential RN offers after graduation.
✅ Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for the Summer 2026 Nurse Internship, applicants must:
Be on track to graduate from a baccalaureate or associate nursing program by December 2026 or May 2027
Hold at least one of the following active certifications/licenses:
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Emergency Medical Technician - Basic (EMT-B)
Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic (EMT-P)
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Have a current Infant-Adult Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross (must include hands-on training)
Be available to work 30-36 hours per week, across all shifts (Days, PMs, Nights), including weekends and holidays
