Essential Functions:
Enhance troubleshooting skills for electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Learn tier one skills such as de-energizing machines, replacing switches, pumps, and cylinders, and installing equipment.
Understand and adhere to electrical codes, safety regulations, and installation standards.
Develop troubleshooting proficiency for electronic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
Adhere to safety protocols, program and troubleshoot using controllers, handle equipment, and ensure operational efficiency.
Complete lock-out/tag-out training and perform machine maintenance tasks.

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
High school seniors or adult learners with a high school diploma/GED or equivalent, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
Acceptance into an associate degree program in Electromechanical Technology at Metropolitan Community College.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Maintenance of a minimum 2.5 GPA in the program to remain in the apprenticeship.

The Evonik Manufacturing Apprentice program offers an exciting entry-level opportunity that integrates hands-on work experience with a comprehensive certificate program in Process Technology, developed in collaboration with Ivy Tech Community College. Apprentices will be assigned to a direct manufacturing or support role at the Evonik Tippecanoe Laboratories site, where they will collaborate with team members to achieve business objectives in a safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible manner.
Over the course of approximately 18 months, apprentices will engage in a structured curriculum covering essential Process Technology concepts while earning a competitive compensation package. The primary goal of this apprenticeship is to cultivate highly skilled candidates who are well-prepared for advancement to the Production Operator position and ready to take on greater responsibilities within the organization. This program not only enhances technical expertise, but also fosters professional growth and development in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
This posting is for multiple openings in manufacturing. The apprentice's work schedule will be determined based on the course schedule at Ivy Tech.
PROGRAM RESPONSIBILITIES:
Apprentice will attend classes at Ivy Tech Community College and will successfully complete all assigned courses in the Process Technology Certificate Program (achieving a grade of C or better).
Maintains a full-time work schedule that includes both hands-on work in manufacturing and class time.
Apprentice will be required to complete all interal Evonik training within designated timelines, including basic operator training.
Adherence to requlatory compliance procedures and all safety protocols.
Assist with day-to-day activities in designated work area, including housekeeping, maintaining building inventories, conducting area inspections, coordinating material movements and learning basic troubleshooting techniques in the manufacturing process.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
Must be at least 18 years old before starting work
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Accepted for enrollment in classes at Ivy Tech and will require in person attendance
Must possess a valid driver's license
Must be willing to work overtime, and shift which may include nights

What is it?

Position - Toolmaker
Location - this apprenticeship will be situated in our Delano, MN location, and will include external training partners within the Twin Cities Metro area.
Eligibility - qualifications include a high school diploma, at least one year of manufacturing experience and a basic understanding of the Toolmaking process.
Timeframe - the program is designed to include four years' worth of instruction. This time can be adjusted if a participant has applicable experience and can “test out” of certain components within the program. There is a 500-hour probationary period.
Completion - upon successful completion of the program, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion and, when applicable, a Journeyworker card from the Department of Labor and Industry, Apprenticeship Unit.

Responsibilities
Work in conjunction with the molding team to solve issues with automation equipment.
Work unsupervised in maintaining equipment, tools, and work area.
Respond to production calls for assistance on automation related equipment.
Assist in the set-up / tuning of appropriate equipment following a mold change.
Perform a daily visual inspection of on-line equipment to detect malfunctions.
Perform repairs associated with the red tag program
Assist Injection Automation Engineers and department management with project requests.
Maintain cleanliness and functionality of tools and work area.
Maintain and enforce all company safety, environmental and department of health requirements.
Qualifications
LOTO certified
Arc Flash certified
JDE work order entry
Repair automation equipment encompassing electrical, mechanical, & pneumatic breakdowns.
Tune robotic applications as production needs arise.
Qualifications
High School diploma / GED equivalent.
Knowledge of mechanical systems and proven ability to apply that knowledge.
Commitment to complete four year Berry Global maintenance mechanic apprenticeship program.
Able to work independently and with others.

Ability to safely operate a forklift in high traffic, low clearance areas while not posing a safety risk to others.

Must be CPR and First Aid certified or possess the ability to obtain such certification within 90 days of employment.
Must be willing to Travel for extended periods of time.
