The Daycare Worker ensures children are actively involved and well cared for. They are expected to use various learning methods such as stories, games, and art to intellectually stimulate the children. They are responsible for following proper procedures for changing diapers/potty training, feeding, and maintaining the room's safety. Must be able to work with the daily ebb and flow of daycare life. Responsibilities A day in the life of a Daycare Worker at Hackensack Meridian Health includes: 1. Communicating with center families effectively and professionally. 2. Adapting to the children's developmental needs and executing the daycare's curriculum accordingly. 3. Be properly prepared during emergency situations, such as fire drills, medical emergencies, etc. 4. Maintaining an open line of communication amongst fellow daycare workers, teachers and management. 5. Other duties and/or projects as assigned. 6. The Head Teacher is responsible for planning and effectively executing an educational program in line with the center's curriculum, goals, and philosophy at Palisades Medical Center (PMC). This position is responsible for daily plans of specific classrooms, and oversees group teachers in assigned age groups. In doing so, this role is to cultivate a safe and nurturing environment designed to meet the physical and developmental needs of the children through curriculum, observations and developmentally appropriate practices. Responsibilities A day in the life of a Head Teacher at Hackensack Meridian Health includes: Planning, scheduling and implementing the daily schedules and curriculum for the assigned age group. Assists in coordination for the use of shared classroom space and outdoor space. Assists staff in assessing children's developmental needs and planning appropriate activities. Helps children develop appropriate real-life skills activities such as eating, self-dressing, as well as personal hygiene. Keeping progress notes and written records on the emotional, physical, social and intellectual development of the children. Supervising staff, delegating responsibilities and tasks, and encouraging the development of assistant teachers, aids, and other child care personnel in the classroom. Assuring that equipment and materials are accessible, appropriate and in good condition. Assesses outdoor and indoor areas with regard to safety and appropriateness for groups. Maintaining a pleasant and comfortable atmosphere for staff and children. Holding center responsibility in the absence of the director and assistant director. Communicating with parents and teachers to accommodate and promote the children's needs and their development. Prepares and submits weekly written outline of planned activities. Reviews weekly group teachers' lesson plans. Other duties and/or projects as assigned. Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior. Qualifications Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, child development or related field. Short Description ADVANCED PRACTICED PROVIDER (APP) - Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant - Part Time - Neonatology - Camden, NJ The Advanced Practice Nurse will function within the scope of practice as defined by the state nurses practice act, delineation of privileges set forth by the practice setting and the American Nurses' Association Code of Ethics. The advanced practice nurse utilizes the scientific process and national standards of care as a framework for managing patient care. The Physician Assistant will function within the scope of practice as defined by the supervising physician. Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Functions: • As licensed independent providers, APPs practice autonomously and/or in consultation with a collaborating/supervising physician and other health care professionals to assess, diagnose, treat and manage patients' health problems/needs. • The APP will perform a patient history and physical examination to determine a working differential diagnosis and develop an individualized plan of care. • Services include, but are not limited to ordering, performing, supervising, and interpreting diagnostic and laboratory tests, and prescription of pharmacologic agents and non-pharmacologic therapies. • The APP may provide therapeutic measures as appropriate and provide teaching, education and counseling to individuals, families and groups. • For uncommon or unstable conditions, the APP will formulate diagnoses in consultation with his/her collaborating/supervising physician and either refer to a specialist or participate in the dual management and treatment with his/her collaborating/supervising physician. • In addition to diagnosing and managing acute and chronic illnesses, APPs will emphasize health promotion and disease prevention • APPs will serve as health care researchers, professional educators, interdisciplinary consultants and patient advocates. • Prescribing Medications • Prescriptions may be provided by the APP, where clinically indicated, and shall be in accordance with the current APP prescribing guidelines and in accordance with state and federal law. Proper documentation of medications prescribed, and refills authorized, will be reflected in the patient's chart. • Continuing Education • The APP will stay current with medical trends and provide evidence-based practice medicine by completing the required continuing education as mandated by certifying organizations. • The autonomous nature of the APP requires accountability for healthcare outcomes. Insuring the highest quality of care requires national certification, periodic peer review, clinical outcome. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in ambulatory office working in open access scheduling should demonstrate clinical expertise in assessment of patients with various medical complaints. The APP must have diagnostic reasoning skills and the ability to therapeutically manage a variety of medical illnesses and injury in a timely manner. This position will include independent evaluation and formation of treatment plans by the advanced practice provider.
