Under the direction of a qualified physician, performs a variety of technical MRI procedures necessary for the diagnosis of disease in humans. Ensures compliance with department standards and maintains an accuracy rate of at least 99% in all technical procedures. Responsibilities Prepare and perform MRI procedures to ensure high quality results. Schedule appropriate time for each patient and regularly review requisitions received. Reporting to and functioning under the general supervision of the Supervisor, the MRI Technologist prepares for and operates a MRI Scanner following specific physician orders. Produces detailed computer generated scans of patients for diagnostic and interventional information. Assists patients onto scanner after reviewing the MRI safety checklist, verifies patient identification prior to scan, selects patient from worklist, ensures exam is archived on the PACS and completed properly in the RIS.
