Performs bronchopulmonary hygiene and assists patient in performing breathing exercises. Performs basic life support measures, and responds to emergent patient situations. Documents patient care in patient's EMR. Records accurate patient charges Demonstrates respiratory care procedures to orientees. Ensure proper documentation for insurance billing, treatment plans, and patient updates. Record patient responses to treatments, including vital signs, oxygen saturation, and any adverse reactions or complications. Equipment Management: Set up and maintain respiratory therapy equipment, such as mechanical ventilators, nebulizers, and oxygen delivery devices. Ensure that all respiratory equipment is properly calibrated, clean, and functioning according to safety standards. Perform troubleshooting and minor repairs on respiratory equipment as needed. Professional Development and Continuing Education: Participate in continuing education opportunities to stay current with new techniques, equipment, and best practices in respiratory therapy. Preferred Certifications: NRP ACLS PEARS Overview The Registered Respiratory Therapist works under the supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Coordinator and/or Manger/Director, and assists physicians in the treatment of patients with conditions affecting the cardiopulmonary system. This includes patient testing, teaching, assessment, ventilator management and delivery of therapy. Functions as part of the Code Blue team assuming responsibility for airway management. Also provides technical assistance to non-registered Respiratory Care staff.
