Boston University Information Services & Technology (IS&T) is seeking applicants with diverse skills and experiences to join our innovative and inclusive community. You will join as a Systems Administrator II where you will support a broad range of server and operating system administration functions. You will join a team and collaborate with multiple technology groups across campus to administer and improve the underlying server technology that enables a wide variety of university client services. You will leverage technical expertise to assess client system's needs, advocate for and implement technology solutions, and refine existing process and procedures to help ensure the availability and reliability of university systems. As part of the IS&T Infrastructure Operations team, you will report to the Assistant Director of Systems Administration & Basis. This position is located in Boston, MA with opportunities for hybrid and remote work. This position provides rotating 24/7 on-call support and will include night and weekend support for critical University business cycles. You Will:
Manage and maintain server operating systems, hypervisors, processes, hardware and related software.
Work with cross functional teams to install, test, transition server operating systems, hypervisors, processes, and related hardware & software into production status.
Maintain systems and evaluate/apply upgrades.
Coordinate with vendors on problem resolution.
Detect, diagnose, isolate, and correct system faults.
Serve as Level-2 technical support for the Help Desk. Support incident and problem management activities.
Provide off-hours on-call support and assistance during incidents.
Support the maintenance, and periodic testing of business continuity and disaster recovery procedures.
Investigate and recommend new technology and techniques to enhance the performance, reliability, and availability of IT resources and services.
Required Skills
You Will Have:
3+ years of experience administering Windows systems in a physical and/or virtualized environment.
Bachelor's Degree in related discipline or equivalent experience.
Technical Expertise: Experience diagnosing Windows operating system and associated software issues required.
Can troubleshoot software, hardware and network issues.
Is comfortable with installing, configuring and upgrading Windows applications and different specialized third-party applications. •Knowledge of TCP/IP LAN/wireless networking principles and application protocols, i.e. HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP and FTP. •Experience with a variety of tools commonly leveraged in a complex enterprise environment such as remote assistance, asset management, image and deployment, patching, backup and restore and endpoint protection required.

The Workday System Administrator supports and manages Babson College's Workday platform, with emphasis on the Student Information System, and specific areas of Finance. This role independently handles tenant management, system configuration, security administration, and upgrades, while also developing documentation and ensuring data integrity. Responsibilities include troubleshooting issues; monitoring system health; supporting custom application development via Workday Extend; staying current with platform updates; and collaborating closely with the Workday Platform Manager, Workday Operations team and campus stakeholders to maintain a secure, efficient, and well-aligned system environment.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Maintain a complete understanding of the system to act as a liaison between IT and functional areas within Student Information System, Finance, and Human Capital Management.
Serve as the secondary security administrator for the student portion of the Workday Platform (and Finance as needed).
Extend custom application design, build, and deploy. This includes working independently to design, build, and deploy custom applications using Workday Extend-a platform that enables organizations to create tailored solutions that run natively within Workday. Extend functionality allows access to Workday data, business processes, and security models, enabling the development of apps that go beyond standard modules while maintaining a consistent user experience and compliance framework.
Manage and maintain security groups, roles, and mapping to business processes, ensuring segregation of duties and compliance.
Troubleshoot Workday Student area concerns related to business processes and domains, including access issues, conditional rules, and more.
Independently support and communicate Workday releases and enhancements to maximize the system's capabilities, assisting with the implementation and testing of new features.
Responsible for maintaining proper security to protect confidential information by documenting security changes and testing all security memberships.
Follow and enhance change control processes for security related changes and integrations.
Ensure a production quality system, by partnering and collaborating with Platform Manager and other cross functional leads across campus to troubleshoot and resolve production application issues; coordinate, review, test, and implement ongoing Workday system upgrades or patches.
Be proactive in understanding inbound and outbound data integrations, monitoring system health, scheduled jobs, alerts and notifications and proactively addressing any key changes that are needed.
Remain knowledgeable of the Workday roadmap and upcoming product releases, reviewing release notes, assessing new features and understanding the impacts to business processes and basic changes in functionality.
Escalate any policy or process conflicts to Platform Manager.
Participate in project scoping activities by collaborating with key Workday platform stakeholders, and at times campus partners, to assess integrations, define configurations, plan security and data needs, and support Workday Extend solutions-ensuring technical alignment, feasibility, and compliance with institutional goals. Sample project scope work includes the transition of Student Forms from ColdFusion to Workday Extend, enabling functionality enhancements to Procurement processes, and supporting learning program offerings aligned with undergraduate majors in the curriculum.

SUMMARY: NECC is seeking a talented Senior Systems Administrator (SSA) who possesses excellent interpersonal skills and able to work as part of a team; will be self-motivated and proactive; will provide excellent customer service, technical support, and will become an integral member of a large team of personnel who provide technology services to the college and community.
The SSA will be responsible for maintaining the server infrastructure, both physical, virtual and cloud environments, including Microsoft domain controllers, DHCP, DNS services. The SSA will plan the installation of and maintain systems and services hosted within the corporate infrastructure as well as the cloud hosted solutions. RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead the design and implementation of integrated software systems, scalable data infrastructures, and AI-powered applications that support faculty research and clinic-based projects. Standardize development practices across domains by ensuring code quality, data governance, security protocols, and model evaluation. Develop open and extensible artifacts such as modular software platforms, MCP-based data repositories, and AI components, including large language models and agentic AI systems. Close collaboration with technical and administrative leads is required to deliver tailored solutions that meet both experimental and operational needs. Maintain an online repository of completed projects, datasets, software tools, and AI models to ensure transparency, accessibility, and reuse.
Experiential Learning Support - 20%
Support faculty in delivering high-quality experiential learning through CDS clinics and BU Spark! practicum offerings, with projects spanning software engineering, data science, and AI development. Responsibilities include assisting in project scoping, student applicant assessment, and quality assurance across technical domains. Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior staff, student project managers, and interns working on software, data, or AI initiatives. In addition, represent CDS as the senior technical lead in meetings with both internal and external partners.
Sponsored Research Support - 20%
Collaborate with CDS faculty on sponsored research projects that require software prototypes, data pipelines, and AI systems. Support the development and deployment of pilots as well as production-ready artifacts across software, data, and AI domains. Serve as a liaison to BU departments providing computing resources or technical support, including IS&T Research Computing, the Hariri Institute's SAIL, and Medical Campus cores such as BEDAC and the Bioinformatics Core.
Technical Consultancy - 10%
Provide advisory support to faculty, students, and partners on the design and implementation of pilot projects involving software development, data engineering, and AI integration. This role is **40 hours per week** with possibility of overtime and weekends shifts. Our ideal candidate demonstrates teamwork, with the availability to work **Monday to Friday from 6 PM to 3 AM.**

**Primary Duties and Responsibilities**
**■** Operate all department machines.
■ Make operating adjustments to equipment as trained.
■ Maintain logs and keep records as directed.

Wear necessary protective clothing and equipment as required.
■ Perform tasks involving the lifting and/or loading of materials.

**Physical Requirements**

**Working Conditions**
**■** Work occasionally requires situations where extreme caution must be observed.

Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. About the Opportunity
The Workday System Analyst, Data Modeling & Configuration is responsible to maintain and optimize Workday foundational data structures (supervisory orgs, job catalog, positions, cost centers, academic/administrative hierarchies).

JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Identity & Access Manager (IAM) Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the identity and access management framework within Northeastern University. Utilizes a deep understanding of IAM technologies, security protocols, and best practices to ensure the protection of sensitive information and compliance with regulatory requirements. Leveraging identity systems including Microsoft Active Directory, Entra, Savyint, Grouper and Shibboleth, provides senior operational support to these systems in support of Single Sign-On (SSO), User Provisioning, Privileged Access Management, and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC). Make recommendations for, and lead the implementation of changes through a formal change management process., working with cross-functional teams to align IAM initiatives with business objectives.
Plays a critical role in shaping the security posture of the organization working with cutting-edge technologies and leading initiatives that have a significant impact on user experience, operations and security.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or relevant experience
· Minimum of 7 years of experience in Sr. IAM Engineering and implementation roles.
· Extensive platform knowledge and experience working with Entra ID, Microsoft Active Directory, Entra Connect, Grouper, Shibboleth and Savyint, or equivalent tools.
· Extensive Experience with security protocols and standards (e.g., SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect)
· Knowledge and experience of working with Shibboleth, Incommon Federation, or SailPoint, LDAP are nice-to-haves
· Advanced proficiency in scripting tools, such as bash, SQL, PowerShell, and Jenkins or GitHub Actions, for automation and management tasks. Experience with automation tools and frameworks relevant to IAM is a plus
· Excellent technical and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex IAM concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proven track record of working in complex production environments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
1) Technology Implementation: Lead the deployment and integration of IAM technologies, leveraging Microsoft Active Directory (on-premises and Entra). Evaluate, select, and guide development of appropriate IAM tools and solutions to enhance security and user experience.
2) Operational Improvements: Create and implement operational best practices to ensure ongoing availability of identity systems.
3) Collaboration and Leadership: Work closely with IT, security, and business teams to understand access requirements and implement appropriate controls. Provide expert guidance and mentorship to IAM team members and other IT staff.
4) Automation and Optimization: Oversee the development of automation scripts and workflows (e.g., using PowerShell) to streamline provisioning and de-provisioning processes. Optimize existing IAM processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
5) Incident Management and Support: Act as the highest escalation point for complex access issues not resolved by the IT Service Desk. Oversee the resolution of IAM-related incidents and problems.
