We are seeking talented Full-Time Night Shift Behavioral Health Technicians & STNA's. 12 Hour Shifts.
Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, provides direct patient care to patients as assigned.
Maintains a safe and efficient working and treatment environment per facility policies and procedures.
Communicates effectively with the treatment team to ensure safe, quality care is provided to all patients
Perform ongoing observation of the patients and milieu to ensure active treatment is provided and patients are participating.
Provide support and direct assistance to patients who are unable to attend to their activities of daily living by assisting them with meals, daily grooming, ambulation and toileting as needed.

The staff member must be able to assist with the orientation process of new division personnel. The staff member is expected to attend and participates in unit council meetings. POSITION SUMMARY
Our Outpatient Therapists make a difference in the lives of the children and families in need, working with the disadvantaged, at risk and undeserved. As the Outpatient Therapist, you will provide office based clinical services for children ages 3-18 with issues such as disruptive behaviors, ADHD, parent-child relationship problems, anxiety, depression, trauma, school-related issues and bullying. Our therapists also provide services to adults up to age 24 with depression, anxiety, life transition difficulties, etc. and pregnant or new moms experiencing stress/depression. Qualifications
Education:
* Requires a High School Diploma or GED plus 3 years of behavioral health experience or
* A Bachelor's degree or higher degree in any field plus 1.5 years of behavioral health experience.
* Basic Behavioral Sciences Certificate of Completion or a Bachelor's degree in a field related to Behavioral Health is preferred.
Experience:
* Prefer behavioral health experience in an inpatient facility.
* Prefer 12 months of experience working as a Behavioral Health Tech II at Valleywise Health.
Specialized Training:
* CPI, EKG, AccuCheck, and manual vital signs training.
* Must complete phlebotomy training and within six (6) months of promotion or hire.
Certification/Licensure:
* Requires BLS issued by the American Heart Association
* Valleywise Behavioral Health Center - Mesa - Unit 2 Adolescent: Must have a valid fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety or submit completed application to the Arizona Department of Public Safety within seven days of transfer date. Fingerprint clearance cards must remain valid for the entire period of issuance and must be renewed prior to expiration.
* Pursuant to Arizona Administrative Code R9-10-306 CHAPTER 10 of the Dept. of Health Services, personnel must be at least 21 years of age, or at least 18 years of age and licensed or certified under A.R.S. Title 32 and providing services within the personnel member's scope of practice.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Must demonstrate the skills and knowledge to provide behavioral health services to adults, including those over the age of 65, adolescents, individuals with substance abuse, individuals who are seriously mentally ill, individuals who have co-occurring disorder, and/or individuals who may be victims or perpetrators of domestic violence.
* Requires basic computer word processing skills (e.g., formatting, editing, printing, composing email, etc.) to be able to successfully navigate through an electronic medical record using a computer.
* Requires the ability to read, write and speak effectively in English.

The Behavioral Health Technician works as a behavioral interventionist to residents in Skilled Nursing Facilities and Behavioral Health Units within larger nursing facilities. This role provides direct support to patients, implements therapeutic programming, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team (IDT) to ensure coordinated and high-quality care. The Behavioral Health Technician trains with and reports to a remote Clinically Licensed Therapist Supervisor, who provides clinical oversight on all cases.
Key Responsibilities
Participate in clinical training and case consultation as needed, including biweekly clinical oversight with the clinical supervisor.
Attend and actively participate in Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) meetings to support coordinated care planning.
Provide behavioral health assessment and therapeutic interventions to individuals and groups in long-term care settings under the direction of a clinical supervisor.
Facilitate psychosocial activities and structured programming to support patient engagement and quality of life.
Work in coordination with facility caregivers and staff to redirect and de-escalate behavioral episodes.
Conduct therapeutic program implementation as requested by partner facilities and approved by the clinical supervisor.
Document assessments, interventions, and progress notes for each encounter and submit within 24 hours for review.
Perform non-violent crisis intervention and behavioral redirection strategies as appropriate.
Support case management functions as requested by partner facilities and/or care management personnel.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, or related field from an accredited college or university preferred.
Four years of experience working in a behavioral health setting required if only possessing a high school diploma/equivalent.
Certified Mental Health Technician (CMHT) through NCCB preferred but not required.
Minimum of two years working in a behavioral health setting, or educational equivalence may be substituted for up to one year of work experience.
COVID-19 Vaccination required to work in Skilled Nursing Facilities per CMS regulations.
Moderate computer skills required; experience with electronic medical records preferred.
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
Ability to make sound decisions in emergency situations.
Proficiency in writing clear reports and clinical documentation.
