Candidate will provide electrical engineering and design for water and wastewater facility projects, serving as lead electrical engineer when required. Candidate will support projects both local to and regional to the office, as well as supporting projects in other areas as requested by the firm. Our electrical group has over 100 employees spread across more than 30 of our offices Key Responsibilities: Power systems design, including medium and low voltage electrical power distribution, generator design, motor controls, VFDs, lighting systems, equipment layout and related activities at water and wastewater facilities Prepare project specifications and edit corporate electrical master specifications as needed to suit each project Serve as the lead electrical engineer on multiple concurrent projects. Ensure the work is performed in accordance with scope, schedule, and budget Perform site visits as needed from project conceptual design through construction Perform electrical design work in AutoCAD and/or Revit as required by the project Perform electrical power system studies in SKM and/or ETAP as required by the project Complete construction administration tasks including review of shop drawings, replies to requests for information, change order requests and similar tasks Perform factory witness testing of electrical equipment as required by the project Monitor and participate in the field testing and start-up of electrical systems Represent the electrical discipline in client project meetings Interaction with clients, contractors, and engineers from other disciplines Serve as a technical mentor for less experienced electrical staff Assist in business development activities such as proposal preparation Develop scope and fee documents for electrical portions of projects Fill the role of Project Manager for selected electrical projects. Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering 5-14 years of relevant experience in heavy industrial electrical engineering and design Licensed as a registered professional engineer in at least one U.S. state. Role Overview As the Manager of Engineering at LCEC, you will lead efforts to ensure the reliability, efficiency, and long-term success of our electrical distribution system. This leadership role is ideal for an innovative professional dedicated to advancing energy solutions for our community. Responsibilities System Analysis and Strategy Assess the performance of our electrical distribution infrastructure. Design and implement a four-year maintenance and construction plan to optimize system operations. Team Collaboration for Efficiency Partner with the engineering team to analyze load flow, short circuit scenarios, and protective relaying schemes. Oversee studies on voltage regulation, arc flash safety, and system coordination to enhance network performance. Future Planning and Growth Anticipate system demands and design strategies for infrastructure upgrades to support business expansion and increasing energy loads. Qualifications The ideal candidate will bring: A Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. Proven experience in the electrical utility industry. Strong expertise in advanced mathematics, including trigonometry, calculus, algebra, and analytic geometry. Familiarity with Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories equipment or similar systems (preferred). Understanding of NERC and FERC regulations, with experience in SPP considered an asset. Outstanding problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. A valid New Mexico driver's license and compliance with drug testing policies. Work Schedule and Benefits Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (can vary at times), promoting work-life balance. Work Setting: Hybrid (remote and office) Key Responsibilities: Candidate will serve as the lead electrical engineer on projects for water and wastewater facilities. Responsibilities include supervision of less experienced staff working on projects, and interaction with clients and engineers from other disciplines. Required Qualifications: Qualified candidate should have knowledge in industrial power design, including medium and low voltage electrical power distribution, motor control, VFDs, lighting systems, equipment layout and related activities. Candidate should have a good working knowledge of the NEC and related Codes. Candidate must also have good communication skills, including interaction with clients and contractors. AutoCAD experience is a must Professional Engineering License is required. 5-10 years in electrical engineering and design and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering are required. Preferred Qualifications: Revit BIM software and SKM power systems software is desirable. Experience with instrumentation and control systems is a plus, including field and panel instruments, operator interfaces, and PLCs.
