**Job Summary and Qualifications**
Under the direction of the Security Director or designee, the off duty Armed Police Officer PRN (APO) is responsible for the protection of the facility's assets, people and programs. The APO establishes a positive Security image by being highly visible and vigilant to fire, health and safety hazards as well as criminal threats. The APO takes immediate corrective action on violations and/or deficiencies to minimize the potential for harm. The APO maintains a close working relationship with hospital employees to provide a safe and secure environment.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**
1. Supports the hospital's safety and security management program in an attempt to provide a safe and secure physical environment.
2. Assists all hospital patients, visitors and employees with dignity and respect and acknowledges their needs in a timely manner.

4. Provides preventative patrols in the area in and around the Emergency Department.
