Position Summary: Responsible for providing comprehensive dental care services to HealthPoint dental patients. Compensation is dependent on skills and experience. Your contribution to the team includes: * Perform general dentistry services, including restorative, oral surgery, periodontics, endodontics, prosthodontics and pediatric dental procedures for HealthPoint patients. * Promote preventive dentistry concepts through patient education. * Triage and provide emergency treatment to HealthPoint patients. * Review and document patient's medical history, medications and prescribe new medications in Electronic Medical Record (EMR). * Review and document patient's dental history, treatment plans and services provided in Electronic Dental Record (EDR) * Refer patients to specialty care as appropriate. * Assist in orientation, training and evaluation of all new dental staff, dental externs as well as provide ongoing to dental staff in coordination with Dental Center Manager. * Assist with meeting clinic quality improvement and operations goals through striving for an efficient, productive clinic. Participate in developing and utilizing HealthPoint practice guidelines and procedures, using disease registries, participating in audits, and being involved with risk management and utilization management programs. * Works with a variety of dental student learners including but not limited to dental students and dental residents. Must have's you'll need to be successful: * Doctoral degree from an accredited school of Dentistry and three to five years of direct dental services experience. * Maintain current registration/licensure with DDS or DMD in the State of Washington, as well as a DEA license in the State of Washington. Crown and bridge prosthesis and full denture fabrication will be performed on a limited basis as time and funds allow. * Appropriately consult with dental specialists in managing complex oral surgical and prosthetic cases, providing postoperative or follow-up care when necessary, and adequately documenting all referrals and treatment in patients chart. * Regularly prescribe and/or dispense appropriate medications to patients. * Treat successfully a patient population which contains people who present actual or potential behavioral problems that require skills in patient handling. * Very effectively direct, supervise and review the assigned dental staff including dental assistants, hygienists and dental custodian. * Consistently maintain clinic patient charts in an appropriate, timely, and complete manner such that dental chart audits can be performed. * Participate in the development and implementation of a quality improvement program, including the electronic dental record, protocols for the dental management of identified oral health problems, an internal dental audit mechanism. * Participate in the development or review of the Dental Policy governing the operation of the clinic. * Participate in the development and uses of the system by the clinic generate patient utilization data for purposes of program evaluation and reporting to PHS. * In the absence of the Director, oversee all aspect of the physical operation of the clinic. * Participate in regularly scheduled quality assurance reviews, as outlined in the Dental Policy of the clinic. * Participate in a system of clinical practice/patient care evaluation, including assessments of the quality of inpatient and ambulatory health care services and/or internal practice audits. * Take measures to correct his/her deficiencies found as a result of quality assurance reviews. * Participate in developing and implementing systems to meet facility wide deficiencies found as a result of quality assurance reviews. * Participate in developing and implementing educational session for staff to correct deficiencies found as a result of quality assurance reviews. * Provide translation when capable and able * Attend clinic, Support Staff and All Staff meetings * Participate in quality improvement projects as assigned * Work as a team with other staff for continuity and efficient, quality care. * Requires adherence to all policies, standards and procedures included in the Admin, Clinical and HR Manuals and the agency Code of Conduct. * Perform other duties as assigned.
