Position Summary: Responsible for providing comprehensive dental care services to HealthPoint dental patients. Compensation is dependent on skills and experience. Your contribution to the team includes: * Perform general dentistry services, including restorative, oral surgery, periodontics, endodontics, prosthodontics and pediatric dental procedures for HealthPoint patients. * Promote preventive dentistry concepts through patient education. * Triage and provide emergency treatment to HealthPoint patients. * Review and document patient's medical history, medications and prescribe new medications in Electronic Medical Record (EMR). * Review and document patient's dental history, treatment plans and services provided in Electronic Dental Record (EDR) * Refer patients to specialty care as appropriate. * Assist in orientation, training and evaluation of all new dental staff, dental externs as well as provide ongoing to dental staff in coordination with Dental Center Manager. * Assist with meeting clinic quality improvement and operations goals through striving for an efficient, productive clinic. Participate in developing and utilizing HealthPoint practice guidelines and procedures, using disease registries, participating in audits, and being involved with risk management and utilization management programs. * Works with a variety of dental student learners including but not limited to dental students and dental residents. * Maintains good attendance, is punctual and works full scheduled shift is a condition of employment. * Demonstrates respectful, professional and appropriate behavior that supports a team-oriented work environment. * Demonstrate a commitment to the mission, core values and goals of HealthPoint and its healthcare delivery including the ability to integrate values of integrity, wisdom, creativity, cooperation, responsibility and respect into appropriate programs and services. * Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. * Attend staff meetings, in-service meetings and participate in agency committees and task force activities as required. Must have's you'll need to be successful: * Doctoral degree from an accredited school of Dentistry and three to five years of direct dental services experience. * Maintain current registration/licensure with DDS or DMD in the State of Washington, as well as a DEA license in the State of Washington. * Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures/reports/documents, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence and speak effectively in front of groups of employees and clients. * Work situations are broadly defined, complex and diverse, occasionally unprecedented. Problems have many dimensions and range from innovative thinking in one area to related fields of specializations. * Possesses basic operating knowledge of computers. Beginning level of Word, Excel and Outlook required. Proof of vaccination for COVID-19 is required, prior to start. HealthPoint does not accept the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine as proof of vaccination. Purpose of Job: Improve the overall health of the communities we serve by providing dental care to patients as follows: Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Performs diagnostic, surgical, restorative and various preventative services. Understands and follows infection control procedures. Reviews medical histories at each visit. Consults with patient's health care provider or another clinic provider as needed. Diagnoses dental disease, oral pathology, and develop a written treatment plan and prioritizes treatments. Explains the course of treatment with patient, and solicit his/her input and agreement. Qualifications: Education/Experience: Completion of ADA accredited dental program required. Valid dentist license in the state of Washington required upon hire. Previous experience working with under -served populations desired. Certification through The Drug Enforcement Agency required. Skills: Must be able to secure credentialing through identified agencies (Medicaid, etc.). Excellent customer service, oral and written communication skills required. Computer skills required. BLS certification required. Physical Demands: Dentists are required to stand under 1/3rd of the day; while sitting, and being mobile are required 1/3rd to 2/3rd of the time. They are required to use hands to finger, handle or feel over 2/3rd of the time, as well as reach with hands and arms. Climbing, balancing, kneeling or crouching occurs less than 1/3rd of the time. Communicating by talking/ hearing occurs over 2/3rd of the day. Smelling occurs between 1/3rd and 2/3rd of the day. Excellent vision (with or without correction) and hand-eye coordination required.
