Typical surgeries that we take include hip/knee replacements, spine and other orthopedic surgeries, bariatrics, hysterectomies, and general surgeries. Trauma patients come to our unit as well. We are a service center for excellence for both orthopedics and bariatrics. We have an excellent rapid recovery program for joint replacement patients, and most go home the day after surgery. The Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (DCES) for Population Health is an integral and autonomous member of the patient-centered care team that participates in the development and implementation of innovations in care delivery by providing collaborative, comprehensive, person-centered care, and education that is conducive to behavior changes that lead to improved quality of life across an individual's lifespan.
