What you'll do:
The Fuel and Motion Control Systems Division of Eaton's Aerospace Group, has an opening for an
Assembler II based in Irvine, CA.
* Assemble parts or units, and position, align, and fasten units to assemblies, subassemblies,
or frames using hand tools and power tools
* May disassemble and assemble product that is returned for repair
* Utilize hand tools such as pliers, wrenches, screwdrivers, arbor press, vises, soldering iron,
micrometers, calipers and indicators
* Use routing sheets, operating instruction sheets or other documentation to ensure proper
assembly of parts. Perform visual inspection of units during the assembly process and at
completion of assembled units.
* May perform verification as an operator/inspector for others in the department
* Inspect, test, and adjust completed units to ensure that units meet specifications, tolerances,
and customer order requirements

Eaton's IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a Sub-Assembly. The hours for this role are 3:30pm-12:00am. The hourly rate for this position is $19.47 + $1.00 shift differential per hour. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
**What you'll do:**
**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:**
+ Responsible for minor assembly processes, such as rotor/shaft assembly, pressure plates assembly, and shaft seal assembly, as required by work orders and/or lean line operations.
+ Responsible for the creation, production, and attachment of all production and R.E.O. nameplates in accordance with the requirements designated on the case history and/or the Sales Order Addendum. The production of nameplates shall be accomplished using all of the designated processes and equipment located in the area.
+ Responsible for lock wiring all units in accordance with all specifications defined by the customer, by prints, and by case histories. The individual shall also be responsible for physically re-checking and validating all fastener torque requirements as required.
+ Responsible for visually inspecting and completing final unit pre-shipment operations such as installation of drive shafts, o-rings, caps, plugs, placement of lock wire "tamper seals", etc.
+ Responsible for masking off and painting parts and units while following blueprints and special paint processes according to customer requirements and specifications.
+ Completes all required quality and customer information on reports and documents.
+ Responsible for self-inspection and verification of same on all required assembly and test documentation.
+ Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in all assigned working areas to the highest degree of cleanliness required for ensuring the highest quality standards in the assembly of all products.
+ Responsible for safety for self and for other employees in the area.
+ Ability to read and complete inspection ledger, inspection check sheet, operation sheet,
+ move ticket and discrepancy report (DR) and other paperwork as necessary to comply with Quality Systems.
+ Responsible for notifying supervisors when work received does not meet the specifications required by previous operators including paperwork requirements as observable.
+ Performs operator defined 5S/TPM tasks as required.
+ Responsible for returning all tools to their proper location at the end of the shift and cleaning work area.
+ Proper use of all tools and gages necessary to complete and to verify that all work performed has been completed to specifications as required.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Assembler role will assemble, fit, fasten, and install parts to form subassemblies. Align, fit, assemble, fasten, connect, and install system components of military mechanical/electromechanical equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Setup equipment to meet product standards for identification, shell painting, retainer loading, contact painting, wire cutting, riveting, contact crimping and contact hooding.
* Weigh, mix and identify items such as inks, paints, adhesives, molding compounds, and potting materials.
* Follow intermediate drawings and procedures.
* Perform work with limited to no supervision.
* Support cross training and support of other departments.
* Manually load and/or machine load retainers into molded plastic inserts per work order instructions.
* Bond loaded front inserts to molded plastic rear inserts per work order instructions.
* Bond interface seals and grommet seals to plastic insert assemblies per work order instructions.
* Rework and/or repair assembled parts and products according to engineering specification changes.
* Read and interpret blueprints, illustrations, and specifications to determine layouts, sequences of operations, and follows procedures.
* Position and align subassemblies in jigs or fixtures, using measuring instruments and following blueprint lines and index points.
* Assemble and bond EMI rings to connector shell per work order instructions.

+ Work efficiently, effectively, and collaborate in a team setting while following operating procedures and/or customer specifications to produce quality products which are delivered to the customer on time

**Your Skills and Expertise**
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
+ Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
+ Ability to work overtime, weekends and holidays as needed.
+ Ability to work a fixed first, second, or third shift of 8 to 10 hours; depending on availability

Working with blue prints, assembly drawings, specifications, sketches, and verbal and written instructions, assembles, disassembles, repairs and adjusts a variety of units, attachments, components and/or accessories. Reports directly to Production Supervisor or his/her designate.
Key Results Areas by level of work
Level I: Quality - Complete and accurate work performed efficiently
Production quality and efficiency using appropriate tools and equipment, qualified to perform special processes as needed
* Working on assembly operations, sub assembly operations, attachments and/or accessories.
* Size of positioning of work may require incumbents of this position to operate a variety of material handling equipment including jibs, overhead cranes, and their accessories.
* Uses an assortment of measuring tools
* Consistently meets customer's quality requirements and expectations.
Follow instructions - oral and/or written
* Can properly read all blueprint and work instructions
* Will provide instruction and guidance to employees assigned to assist and as required, will participate in training of welders and other employees of the department of lesser classification.
* Performs other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor, weld shop, or his/her designate.

Requirements

Education and Training
Technical Trades School in Welding
High school GED Required
Experience:
1+ years of Assembly experience.
Other:
Must be willing to work overtime as required.
