    JOB SUMMARYAs an Audit Staff Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality audit and assurance services to our diverse clientele. Your responsibilities will involve assisting in the planning, execution, and completion of audit engagements, contributing to the team's efforts to ensure financial statements are accurate and compliant with relevant regulations and standards. Audit Execution Participate in the planning and preparation of audit engagements under the guidance of senior team members Execute audit procedures, including testing of controls, substantive testing, and analytical procedures Document work performed, findings, and conclusions in an organized and clear manner Financial Statement Analysis Analyze financial statements, disclosures, and supporting documentation to identify potential issues or discrepancies Assess the application of accounting principles and standards, and provide recommendations for improvements Internal Controls Assessment Evaluate internal control systems and processes to identify weaknesses or deficiencies that could impact the accuracy of financial reporting Assist in developing recommendations for enhancing internal controls and operational efficiency Client Communication Collaborate with client personnel to obtain necessary information and documentation for audit purposes Maintain professional communication and build positive relationships with client representatives Team Collaboration Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure timely completion of audit engagements Seek guidance from supervisors and managers when encountering complex issues or challenges Technical Research Stay updated on relevant accounting and auditing standards, regulations, and industry developments Conduct research to address accounting and auditing issues that may arise during engagements Reporting and Documentation Contribute to the preparation of audit reports, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and adherence to professional standards Prepare supporting workpapers and documentation to substantiate audit findings and conclusions Professional Development Engage in continuous learning and development to enhance your technical skills and knowledge Supervisory responsibilities None Work environment Work is conducted in a professional office environment with minimal distractions Physical demands Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and performing work in front of a computer screen for long periods of time Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at a time Travel required Travel may be frequent and unpredictable, depending on client's needs Required education and experience Bachelor's degree with a concentration in accounting, or a Master's degree in accounting or taxation Actively pursuing the required education and credits to qualify for the CPA exam, with the intention of obtaining CPA licensure Preferred education and experience Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher Actively working towards achieving CPA licensure or relevant certification, if not already attained Responsible for completing the minimum CPE credit requirement Other duties Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the colleague for this job.
