Position Overview C&S Engineers is seeking a Managing Engineer with a focus on airfield and landside design and construction. Position Responsibilities You will provide team leadership for the design and construction of horizontal and vertical airfield projects in Southern California. You will lead project management efforts on large/complex engineering projects including budgets, resource alignment, client relations, quality, scheduling, and business development. Responsibilities include supervising engineers and designers, managing clients, engaging in industry events and conferences, administration of consultant/sub-consultant agreements, resolving critical issues/policy matters and delivering challenging projects for our clients. The Managing Engineer oversees and/or coordinates project staff assignments and workload to meet client deadlines. Opportunities exist to lead/support other projects in offices across the country. The Managing Engineer will utilize safe work practices in accordance with federal, state, local, and company standards and Communicate incidents, accidents, near misses, potential hazards, and unsafe working conditions to a supervisor or the Health and Safety Department as soon as identified. Skills/Education/Experience 10 years required and 15 years preferred total of related experience with a preference for at least 5 years of experience working on large/regional airfield design/construction and knowledge of airfield and FAA regulations. Thorough understanding of FAA procedures, policies and grant administration. Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering. Professional Engineering (PE) License (California licensure preferred or able to get CA license within a year required). Existing relationships with large airport and aviation market clients a plus. Private/consulting experience a plus. Strong communications skills. Skills to effectively lead and work in large and small multidisciplinary team environments. Ability to set deadlines, assign resources, and monitor/summarize project progress.
