    Full-time Description Provides direct and indirect resident care activities under the direction of an RN or LPN. Assists residents with activities or daily living, provides for personal care, comfort and assist in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment for an assigned group or residents. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: · Performs all job responsibilities in alignment with the mission and vision of the organization. · Performs other duties as required and completes all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures. · Maintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self-education, attends ongoing educational programs). · Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory in-services and requirements and competency evaluations on time. · Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate. GENERAL SKILLS: · Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing. · Additional languages preferred. · Strong written and verbal skills. · Basic Computer Skills WORKING CONDITIONS: · General environment: Works in a well-lighted, air-conditioned area, with moderate noise levels. · May be exposed to high noise levels and bright lights. · May be exposed to limited hazardous substances or body fluids, or infectious organisms. · May be required to change from one task to another or different nature without loss of efficiency or composure. · Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur. · May be scheduled as needed including overtime. JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES: · Must have the ability to acquire knowledge of and develop skills in basic nursing procedures and simple charting. · Assists in and accompanies residents in the admission, transfer and discharge procedures. · Establishes and maintains interpersonal relationship with residents, family members and other facility personnel while assuring confidentiality of resident information. · Provides morning/evening care which includes hand/face washing as needed, oral hygiene, back rubs, peri-care, freshening linen, cleaning overbed tables, straightening room and other general care as needed. · Notifies appropriate licensed personnel when resident complains of pain. · Must be able to follow directions, both oral and written, and work cooperatively with other staff members. · Assists LPN in treatment procedures. · Provides general nursing care such as positioning residents, lifting and turning residents, applying and utilizing special equipment, assisting in use of bedpan or commode and ambulating the residents. · Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and rescues the likelihood of medical/health care errors. · Takes and records temperature, pulse, respiration, weigh, blood pressure and intake-output. · Makes rounds with outgoing and oncoming shift, leaving unit in good condition; knows whereabouts of assigned residents. · Checks for reddened areas or skin breakdown and reports to RN or LPN/LVN. · Ensures residents are dressed properly and assists, as necessary. Ensures that used clothing is proper stored in bedside stand or on hangers in closet. Ensures that all residents are clean and dry at all time. · Practices careful, efficient and non-wasteful use of supplies and linen and follows established charge procedure for resident charge items. · Updates care plans and reports all changes to ADON/DON. Completes documentation daily. · Provides reality orientation in daily care. · Reports and, when appropriate, records any changes observed in condition or behavior of residents and unusual incidents. · Distributes drinking water and other nourishments to residents. · Performs general care activities for residents in isolation. · Answers residents' call lights, anticipates residents' needs and makes rounds to assigned residents. · Assists residents with handling and care of clothing and other personal property (including dentures, glasses, contact lenses, hearing aids and prosthetic devices). PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS: · Follows Code of Conduct policy. · Adheres to dress code; appearance is neat and clean. · Completes annual educational requirements. · Maintains regulatory requirements. · Maintains patient confidentiality at all times. · Reports to work on time and as scheduled; completes work within designated time. · Wears identification when on duty; uses computerized time clock system correctly. · Completes in-services and returns in a timely fashion. · Attends annual review and/or skills fair and department in-services, as scheduled. · Attempts to end conversations and other interactions in a positive manner; leaves others with a good impression of the Hospital Authority of Miller County and its employees. · Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices. · Communicates the mission statement of the organization. Work Shift Day (United States of America) Job Summary: The Nuclear Medicine technologist assists with providing safe, age appropriate care to the patient by performing all exams provided by the department per department procedures. The technologist has the knowledge and ability to properly and safely obtain a quality diagnostic study. He/she is responsible for performing a wide variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative in the utilization of the equipment for the diagnosis and/or treatment of diseases. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Patient Care * Verifies proper clinician order for procedure. * Obtains complete clinical history, gathers examination data and assesses for contraindicating conditions. * Follows established procedures for the administration of radiopharmaceuticals so that no patient condition deteriorates, and no patient suffers undue pain, due to error or poor technique. * Ensures that all studies have proper patient identification and right and left marker are utilized appropriately. * Reviews images for clinically acceptable results and releases patients. * Responds to emergency situations and provides for the restocking of the crash cart and maintenance of life support equipment. * Assists other technologists in all modalities when needed. * Observes patient condition and properly evaluates situations when physician intervention is necessary so that no patient condition deteriorates. * Verifies correct identity of patient using 2 unique identifiers prior to performing a procedure per hospital policy and procedure. * Ensures patient's privacy and comfort is accommodated.     This position is for a Patient Care Technician whose responsibility is to provide direct nursing activities for patients receiving therapeutic and diagnostic services in the Emergency Department/Fast Track, in accordance with accreditation standards, federal, state and local regulations, organizational and departmental policies and procedures. Participates in activities that ensure the safe and efficient provision of services to infant, adolescent, and adult patient populations, refers unusual clinical problems to the Registered Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse.
