Job Title: Plant Maintenance Tech II - All shifts & departments
Reports to: Maintenance Manager
Status: Full-Time, hourly, non-exempt
The Plant Maintenance Tech must have a Safety-First mentality and be trained in and adhere to LOTO procedures, Confined Space Safety, GMP & Food Safety as well as all OSHA required safety training.
Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, the Plant Maintenance Tech is responsible for Preventive, Corrective, Emergency & Safety Maintenance of all processing equipment in all areas of the plant up to and including the Wastewater treatment plant. Duties include but are not limited to; troubleshooting, inspection, testing & diagnostics, removal and replacement of parts and or equipment.
Position Roles & Responsibilities:
Ability to perform maintenance up to and including, inspection of equipment, motor & gearbox replacement, bearing & seal replacement as well as major component removal & replacement.
Ability to troubleshoot equipment failure and implement corrective action for repair.
Ability to clean, lubricate and adjust process equipment as needed.
Ability to troubleshoot intermediate electrical components and repair as needed.
Ability to communicate effectively with Maintenance Manager.
Ability to keep accurate documentation and record keeping.
Ability to identify Safety hazards and put corrective actions in place.
Keep work areas clean and free from debris.
Must complete all required training certificates in designated areas.
Boiler training & certification as required.
Complete all other tasks & responsibilities as assigned by management.
Knowledge & Skills:
Must possess a strong mechanical aptitude with focus in a plant environment.
Must be able to follow operational instructions.
Ability to read and understand equipment manuals, schematics used to identify critical parts & systems.
Must be certified in LOTO, Confined Space & Forklift Safety.
Must provide own hand tools with a lockable toolbox.
Welding & Electrical experience a plus.
Education:
High School diploma/GED required.
Tech school or job-related experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand, bend or move repetitively for up to 12 hours.
Shift work required and overtime as needed.
Must be able to lift 50lbs without assistance and 100lbs with assistance.
Ability to tolerate dusty environments as well as chemical residue smells.
Bending, stretching, lifting, climbing & crawling are required on a regular basis.
Must be able and willing to work in a plant environment with exposure to hot & cold, steam, dust, wet/humid conditions with low lit areas and loud noises.
Working Conditions:
Idaho Pacific Colorado is a normal processing plant environment. Hours are 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Job Description
Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance of equipment throughout the plant, including production areas, packaging areas, raw receiving areas, wastewater treatment, buildings and structures, warehouses and company property. This includes but is not limited to performing maintenance tasks assigned by the Maintenance Manager for preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, inspection, testing, diagnostics, maintenance, repair, removal and replacement of parts and/or equipment. Must ensure machinery and equipment are maintained to be safe for operation. The Maintenance Mechanic must be fully aware of, trained in, and adhere to, all safety programs, policies, and procedures, and pass any required position proficiency tests.
Position Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform all corrective and preventative maintenance on potato processing and packaging equipment by following established guidelines.
Identify machinery or equipment needing repair or replacement; inform management as appropriate.
Observe and test the operation of machinery or equipment, including after the repair or replacement of parts.
Clean, lubricate, or adjust parts, machinery or equipment.
Keep accurate, complete and legible records in English.
Must be able to complete training certifications in appropriate areas.
Assist production and/or packaging departments with work order requests and routine maintenance as needed.
Use caution around moving parts and equipment.
Keep areas of responsibility clean, free of debris, and well maintained.
Keep daily records of any and all events that occurred throughout the plant on a daily basis.
Notify Maintenance Manager of any problems with parts, machinery and equipment requiring special orders, or urgent and safety-threatening situations.
Complete other tasks and responsibilities deemed necessary and as assigned by direct supervisor.
Knowledge and Skills:
A strong mechanical background is required.
Must be able to closely follow operational instructions.
Ability to read and understand parts manuals, schematics, and tools used for repair and maintenance.
Must be able to certify in required safety areas such as: Lock Out /Tag Out, Confined Space, Fall Protection .
Must be able to operate equipment - hyster, loader, etc. when licensed.
Must provide own hand tools and lockable toolbox.
Welding and/or electrical experience is a plus.

The Parks Technician II is under general supervision; this is the mid-level class in the Parks series. Cleans and maintains park bathrooms, facilities, parks, open spaces, medians, irrigation ponds, athletic fields, cemetery grounds, and trails.
Removes snow with plows and de-ices city owned and or maintained sidewalks, parking lots, and roads.
Operates all necessary motorized equipment including mowers, pickup and dump trucks, pickup truck mounted plows, front end loaders, tractors, skid steer, excavators, utility vehicles, backhoe, and similar equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
Assists with locating grave spaces, headstone placements and niche spaces; prepares excavations areas, at the cemetery. May assist with interment openings and closings following safety and ceremonial protocols.
Locates park managed utilities.
Assists with safety inspections on parks, opens spaces, playgrounds, and athletic fields.
Performs athletic field layout and marking.
Participates in special events, emergency response operations, and on-call rotations as required. Works weekends, holidays, and after hours as assigned.
Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment used in parks, grounds, and cemetery operations.
Operates vehicles used in parks construction and maintenance light dump trucks, tractors, mowers, aerators, sprayers, pickups, trailers, snowplows, backhoes, mini excavators, skid steer loaders, chippers, and others.
Operates power tools including chain saws, string trimmers, demo saws, bush cutters, jackhammers, tampers, concrete saws, pressure washers, blowers, and more.
Performs basic mower maintenance such as oil changes and blade sharpening.
May enter confined spaces utilizing proper personal protective equipment (PPE), related safety equipment and entry permits.
Assists any other city departments when needed.
Prioritizes personal and team safety at all times while at work.

The Role: The Maintenance Technician performs unskilled and/or semi-skilled routine manual labor in maintenance and repair of Black Hawk facilities, equipment and grounds.
