+ Assists in all housekeeping efforts and keeps back pad clean and organized.
+ Promotes and follows all lift truck safety guidelines and procedures and is responsible for maintaining certification.

+ Recommends safety improvements as needed.
+ Performs various other duties as necessary.

Job Description
Avery Dennison is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Coordinator for our Graphics Solutions Distribution Center in Mentor, Ohio. You will primarily support the facility with general logistics, finishing and shipping needs. Additionally, you will provide daily logistics support to the facility. Employee on this schedule will work an 8 hour shift Monday through Friday with hours to be determined, with opportunity for in-week and weekend overtime.
This role will be 2nd Shift, 1:00pm - 9:00pm.
Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Arrange for freight pick-ups and communicate freight status to appropriate contacts.
Work with transportation group and outside carriers to ensure on time delivery and meet customer expectations.
Ship and receive materials and equipment to support production and verify receipts in related computer systems
Accurately generate and file all shipping documentations including Bill of Lading, Packing Lists, Customer Sales Orders, Commercial invoices, Transfer Orders, Vendor Shipment Returns and Parcel Package Documents.

Required to work a minimum of 8 hours per day, 5 days per week. Flexibility is an expectation of this job, and team members may be asked to work overtime on weekends. All scheduling is dependent upon the distribution schedule and the distribution manager.

Experience with the operation of high lift, forklift and low lift with the appropriate training and certification.
Responsible for safe and efficient manual organization of items onto skids.
Assists in finished goods inventory as required.
Responsible for safe, responsible equipment operation and work practices of self and others.
Must successfully complete a RFGEN/RF training course.
Responsible for adhering to all personal safety rules and procedures.
Responsible for end of shift organization / dock doors, dock locks, notifying next shift of any late pick-ups.
Ensures all hazardous material shipment documentation is completed and accurate.
Must be compliant with international picking and shelf-life requirements to maintain process standards.
Operates various computer systems (FedEx, WorldShip) as required.
Ability to calculate cube usage for ocean, air and truck shipments to minimize shipping costs.
Must have functional knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel with ability to produce and maintain spreadsheets, labels, forms and records.
Ensure each customer order is reviewed to meet specific customer and country requirements and packed accordingly.
Ability to interact directly with customers and other departments to streamline shipments
DOT/IATA/IMDG hazardous material certification required.
What You Bring
Highschool Diploma or GED required.
At least 2 years of prior shipping/logistic experience is required.
Direct experience in hazardous material for air/ocean freight shipments preferred. Understanding of inventory control/distribution processes a plus.
Must be detail oriented, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and organized to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills required.
Familiarity with production applications and process required.
Must read and write English and perform simple math calculations.
Must be computer literate.
