The Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering at Indiana University Bloomington invites applications for several tenure-track and tenured faculty positions to add to IU's research leadership in Cybersecurity , at the assistant, associate, or full professor levels. We seek exceptional researchers and educators whose work advances the science and practice of cybersecurity to join the Department of Computer Science or the Department of Informatics at the Luddy School. We welcome applicants in all areas of cybersecurity. We are particularly interested in candidates whose work enhances the School's strengths in areas such as systems and software security, data privacy, human-centered security and privacy, and trustworthy AI. This includes, but is not limited to, research on trusted computing and system vulnerabilities, secure mobile and cloud platforms, the design of usable, inclusive security and privacy technologies, and secure and reliable AI systems. Successful applicants will join a collaborative academic community with strong cross-disciplinary ties in computing, engineering, law, policy, and health. The Luddy School is home to internationally recognized centers in security and privacy, and offers a supportive environment for impactful research, teaching, and mentorship. Faculty will contribute to our strong academic programs in cybersecurity, including our multi-disciplinary collaborations across campus such as the BS in Cybersecurity and Global Policy and the MS in Cybersecurity Risk Management programs. Qualified faculty may also collaborate with IU Research and the Indiana University Applied Research Center ( ARC ) in Bloomington. ARC brings together government, military, industry, and academic partners to address complex national security challenges. Within its secure facilities, researchers work on critical areas including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, cyber-physical systems, microelectronics, autonomous systems, advanced materials, quantum computing, and other emerging technologies. These 10‐month faculty appointments have a preferred start date of August 1, 2026, although an earlier or later start date is negotiable. Tenured/tenure track faculty at Indiana University Bloomington are expected to substantially contribute to the overall academic excellence of their department by developing and/or maintaining a robust research portfolio including pursuing and obtaining major extramural research funding to conduct cutting-edge research both as a corresponding principal investigator and a collaborating investigator; teaching and mentoring undergraduate and/or graduate students as designated by the department chairperson; and actively providing service within the department, school, and university alongside active engagement with the profession and/or the community. The successful candidate will be eligible for an endowed professorship and will join an established primary care service team with three clinicians (two ABVP board-certified). The service currently performs routine dentistry procedures with an average case load of 300 per year and has three veterinary nurses, two of whom are VTS-certified (AVTCP - canine/feline). The successful candidate would possess advanced training in small animal dentistry and experience in oral and maxillofacial surgery is preferred. The successful candidate will perform dentistry within the small animal primary care service while also providing advanced dental care from a referral caseload. The service has the support of, and access to, all the resources of the Purdue University Veterinary Hospital, an on-site clinical pathology laboratory, and the Indiana State Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory. The PVM is highly supportive of individual faculty career growth and development, including an active formal faculty mentoring program.
Qualifications
Qualifications for the position include a DVM or equivalent degree, and board certification in the American Veterinary Dental College (AVDC), and a minimum of 5 years' experience in dental practice in either an academic or private setting. Candidates must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and work collaboratively with other faculty and staff. Excellent teaching skills or the ability to demonstrate a sincere interest in developing strong teaching skills is required. The expectations for the position include: 1) clinical, didactic, and laboratory instruction of veterinary medical and veterinary nursing students in all aspects of small animal dentistry; 2) as part of our teaching mission, the faculty member will provide supervision and mentorship to a Resident; 3) clinical service commitment of approximately 60%, providing dentistry and oral and maxillofacial surgical services for primary and referral patients; 4) collaboration in clinical research projects; and 5) participation in engagement activities, including committee work, PVM sponsored programs, and delivery of continuing education programs. The Purdue Veterinary Hospital recently completed a major expansion project. The David and Bonnie Brunner Small Animal Hospital added 65,000 square feet to the existing small animal hospital facilities in Lynn Hall of Veterinary Medicine. A Ph.D. in Criminal Justice or Criminology is required and ABD candidates will be considered as long as a PhD in Criminal Justice or Criminology is in hand by the time of appointment. A JD and/or EdD degree alone is not sufficient. The full-time load (100% FTE ) is 12 credit hours (typically four courses) each fall and spring semester, with one course (25% FTE ) reassigned time for scholarly and creative activities following university & campus policies.
