Position Summary: The Shipper assembles orders and prepares goods for shipment while comparing identifying information and counts, weights, or measurements of items to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
Shipper Duties and Responsibilities:
Reviews and follows all MOP's and SWI's.
Determines method of shipment and packaging for small parts, hardware, and fab parts, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
Preps completed parts for shipping by loading parts to skids with crane assistance.
Builds shipping skids with air compressed equipment following company policy and procedures.
Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects pre-assembled containers for shipments.
Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications and manifests.
Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
May operate a lift truck or hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping to trailers for outgoing shipments.
Keeps work area clean and swept.
May perform other duties as assigned.
Shipper Skills and Specifications:
Knowledge and ability to use electronic databases (EPICOR/MES).
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to safely operate and obtain certification to operate a fork truck.
Ability to safely operate an overhead crane.

While performing the duties of Shipper, the employee is continually required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee is occasionally required to crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 45 pounds. Shipper Work Environment:
While performing the duties of Shipper, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; extreme cold and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
