This opportunity offers a Monday-Friday schedule with no weekends or call responsibilities. We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Professional (APP) to collaborate with other Memory and Cognitive Specialists. The chosen candidate will play a crucial role in supporting patients diagnosed with memory loss, Alzheimer?s disease, and other forms of dementia.
As an integral member of the team, the APP will be expected to efficiently manage an average caseload of 8-10 patients per day, providing specialized care and expertise. This position offers an exclusive focus on collaborating with the memory and cognitive team, making a meaningful impact on the lives of those affected by neurological conditions. A minimum of 1-2 years of neurology or geriatric experience is a prerequisite for this role.

Functions independently to perform age-appropriate history and physical for complex acute, critical, and chronically ill patients
Development and management of patient treatment plans
Orders and interprets diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patient?s age-specific needs
Prescribes appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities
Implements interventions to support the patient to regain or maintain physiologic stability, including but not limited to serving in the first assisting role or working with PCP
Monitors the effectiveness of interventions
Facilitates the patient?s transition within and between health care settings, e.g. admitting, transferring, and discharging patients
Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals
Facilitates staff, patient and family decision making by providing educational tools
Experience and Education:
PA Degree from a College or University and two years related experience and/or training.

Job Title: PhysicianAssistant Department Name: ER Physician - MMCSC Status: Salaried Shift: Day Pay Range: $89,000.00 - $142,000.00 per year Pay Transparency: The above reflects the anticipated annual salary range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey.

Job Summary:
The Emergency and Hospitalist Medicine PhysicianAssistant will deliver primary health care in the Emergency Department or Inpatient setting to include, but not limited to, the recognition and management of common illnesses and injuries, and the provisioning of care across the health care continuum with emphasis on early detection, treatment, and prevention of diseases,
Essential Functions:
- Obtains and records patient history
- Performs physical and medical screening examinations
- Completes diagnostic and therapeutic studies
- Orders diagnostic laboratory tests, radiological studies or other therapies as appropriate
- Establishes diagnostic decision-making and initiates a treatment plan, which may include ordering medications, additional therapeutic modalities, etc
- Coordinates patient care with other members of the health care team,
- Initiates consultation requests to other health professionals to provide more comprehensive patient management
- Instructs and counsels patients regarding mental and physical health, referring patients to appropriate specialists/resources
- Completes charting in a thorough and timely manner
- Adequately manages patient flow in the Emergency Department or inpatient unit
- Performs procedures as allowed by state law and under the direction of the supervising or collaborating physician
- Works within legal, regulatory, and ethical practice standards
- Actively participates in Department staff meetings and risk management education
- Completes required courses, i,e, HIPAA, EMTALA and other CME /CEU requirements
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- Master s Degree in PhysicianAssistant Studies
- PhysicianAssistant Certification
- Registration & Licensure by the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners/ PhysicianAssistant Advisory required
- Basic Life Support and Advanced Life Support Certifications
- New Jersey CDS and DEA Licensure
- Active membership in a professional organization preferred
- Ability and willingness accommodate scheduling needs including working extended hours, weekdays, overnights, weekends, and holidays
Knowledge and Skills:
- Medical and broad based clinical emergency medicine knowledge
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to effectively and successfully work with all emergency department and hospital employees
