Job Summary
The Assistant Professor of Library Media/School Librarianship will Instruct graduate and undergraduate academic courses and support the department, college, and university goals by supporting the academic environment to benefit the educational mission of the University.
The faculty employee is expected to contribute to the department's educational mission. Successful candidates will be expected to instruct our students in the respective disciplines.
The faculty employee is expected to have:
1. An understanding of the principles associated with teaching and learning in Library Media/School Librarianship.
2. Significant and successful experience working with teachers and students in a public-school setting.
3. Strong communication skills and successful higher education teaching experience.
4. A developing research agenda relevant to Library Media/School Librarianship.
The faculty employee should demonstrate an ability to work collegiality and effectively with individuals.
Responsibilities
Faculty - Teaching/Instructing -
Teaching Responsibilities
* Maintain a full-time instructional load teaching in areas of expertise within the academic discipline, specifically Library Media, School Librarianship, and related areas (e.g., information literacy, collection development, library management, technology integration in schools).
* Teach a 4-4 course load each Fall and Spring Semester.
* Teach courses face-to-face on campus and in an online environment; faculty are expected to come regularly to campus to establish an on-campus presence.
* Mentoring Students.
* Demonstrate the knowledge and ability to convey current philosophies, practices, and theories of Library Media/School Librarianship and related fields.
Faculty employees also contribute to the Georgia College & State University core curriculum by teaching topical freshman (GC1Y) or sophomore seminar (GC2Y) courses.

Faculty are expected to conduct research and develop within the profession, focusing on Library Media/School Librarianship.

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
* A Ph.D. (terminal degree) or Ed.D. in Library Media, School Librarianship, or a closely related field from an accredited institution is required before the effective date of employment.
* Must meet SACSCOC accreditation requirements stated in C.S. 3.7.1 (**************** (faculty credentials).
Other Required Qualifications
* Ability to advise and supervise graduate students in Library Media programs, collect program data for university, state, and national compliance, and facilitate program recruitment.
* The successful candidate will be assigned teaching responsibilities primarily in Library Media/School Librarianship, an online graduate program, but may be asked to teach on campus in a face-to-face environment.
* An active scholarship program focused on Library Media/School Librarianship is required, along with campus and community service.

Job Details:The Columbus Roberts Department of Religion in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences seeks applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor of Religion with primary focus on Religion and Science. We welcome candidates in religious studies with expertise in one or more of the following areas: health and healing, natural sciences, social sciences, history of medicine, and history of science.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include teaching 21 hours per academic year at the undergraduate level. Fifteen of those hours will be in religion courses that fulfill a General Education requirement, 3 hours will be in an upper-level religion class in one's discipline, and the remaining hours will be in one of our cross-college programs, including, but not limited to: Integrative Studies, Great Books, and Women's and Gender Studies. This program takes individuals with technical aptitude and positive work ethic to train them in processes, procedures and skill sets needed to graduate as an entry level heavy equipment technician at a Caterpillar dealership. The instructor will act as a lead man, mentor, and facilitator of basic course competencies in electrical, hydraulics and diesel systems. The Boot Camp Training Instructor will also instruct safety topics and other topics that convey the company Mission, Vision and Values.
We are primarily looking to serve Albany, Savannah, Gwinnett, McDonough or Macon areas.
Primary Responsibilities:
Schedule, demonstrate and manage the learning plan and day to day activities of the boot campers in both classroom and shop settings
Assist in the recruiting and selection of boot camp classes
Acting as a working lead man for the boot campers
Lectures classes on safety, installation, programming, testing, maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment- following the outlines, handouts and text materials
Demonstrates proper procedures being taught, such as programming, testing and repair
Observes class participants in the classroom and in the lab setting- answering questions and determining additional activities to ensure learning
Administers written and practical exams to determine understanding and competency. Creates performance reports to evaluate boot camper learning.
Schedules and secures equipment, training aides, training location and classroom related materials
Updates and develops training aides used in the classroom. Deal with vendors.
Participates in meetings, seminars, and training sessions to obtain information / skill sets needed to retain competency in the training arena
Additional Responsibilities:
Participate in required safety program, and work in a safe manner.
Additional duties as assigned by manager.

Effective use of Cat Systems (or ability to learn)
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Valid Driver License.
The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus- the use of Safety Glasses in the shop area is a requirement.
Verbally communicate for extended periods of time
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, running diesel engines and outside weather conditions.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but will contain instances of high levels of engine and work related noise (Hearing protection may be required and is provided).
Travel to instructor training and customer on-site training may require overnight stays (not usually more than five consecutive nights).
Travel to Yancey Bros. Co. sites and customer sites will be required.
