Job Description: The Division of Teacher Residency and Education of the University of South Dakota's School of Education invites applicants for an open Residency Instructor position (Instructor or Lecturer rank). The opening is a 10-month position that will support teacher candidates completing their yearlong teacher residency (student teaching). Responsibilities will include both teaching courses in the teacher residency program (e.g., classroom management, professional ethics, student teaching seminar, educational assessment, etc.) and supervising teacher candidates completing their residency in PK-12 schools in the Sioux Falls and surrounding communities. Additional assignments may be made based on the professional and academic background of the applicant to complement the strengths of the faculty and to address the needs of students in programs within the Division of Teacher Residency and Education, School of Education, and university community. There may also be the possibility of summer teaching for additional compensation. Faculty members in both the instructor and lecturer ranks are expected to make contributions in teaching and service. Our teacher education programs are CAEP accredited and widely respected for preparing highly qualified and effective educators.
Qualifications: Applicants for the instructor rank must possess an earned master's, while applicants for the lecturer rank must possess an earned doctorate. This position has a flexible start date, and applicants may choose to start either in January 2026 or July 2026. Applicants starting in January 2026 must possess their master's or doctoral degree by January 22, 2026, while applicants starting July 2026 must possess their degree by July 22, 2026. Applicant degrees must be earned from an accredited institution in Teacher Education, Curriculum & Instruction, or another closely related discipline (Elementary Education, Secondary Education, Literacy Education, Math Education, Educational Technology, Special Education, Educational Leadership, Human Development, Educational Psychology, etc.). Applicants must have experience working as a teacher in a PK-12 school in the United States. Applicants must show evidence of accomplishments or strong potential for success in teaching and professional service. Preference will be given to those applicants who (a) have at least five years of experience in PK-12 schools, (b) those with middle and/or high school teaching experience, and those who have previously supervised teacher candidates during clinical experiences (i.e., field experience, internships, practicum, student teaching).
Salary/Compensation: Salary is commensurate with qualifications. This position is a 10-month, non-tenure track appointment with the possibility of summer employment for additional compensation.
Authorization to Work: Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States. Sponsorship is not available for this position.

In partnership with fellow faculty and the College administration, the carpentry instructor will define objectives for enhancing, refining, and strengthening the Carpentry curriculum and co-curricular activities. An overload of credit hours is a possibility with this program and will be compensated accordingly.
This role is not just about teaching; it's about building the foundation for a sustainable and hands-on educational experience for our new Carpentry program. The Carpentry instructor will help students foster skills to empower them for future trade employment and entrepreneurial ventures.
Job Responsibilities:
This faculty position at Little Priest Tribal College will work in tandem with college administration to develop a robust strategy for recruiting, enrolling, and retaining students for the Carpentry program. The role involves fostering relationships with local construction entities, tradespeople, and unions to expand hands-on learning opportunities, including apprenticeships and internships.
Communication will be key, and the carpentry faculty member will engage regularly with students, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders to promote the program and its unique facilities. The Carpentry faculty members will stay abreast of carpentry trends to shape the curriculum, incorporating modern construction methods, sustainability, and safety.
The position entails advising students, developing curriculum, assessing and reviewing programs, and participating in college committee work. Required Qualifications
To be eligible to become and remain a BTW instructor, you must be at least 25 years old, have a valid driver's license that permits unaccompanied driving, and have a clear driving record for the previous two years as defined in Iowa Administrative subrule 761-634.7. The process for becoming a new behind-the-wheel instructor includes completing a behind-the-wheel instructor training program, as well as receiving certification from the Iowa Department of Transportation and authorization for the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners.

The Department of Mathematical Sciences of the University of South Dakota invites applications for a tenure-track appointment at Assistant Professor level starting August 14, 2026, with a PhD in Applied Mathematics or Statistics from an accredited institution. The salary is commensurate with qualification and experience and includes a full benefits package.
Required qualifications:
PhD in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field, with completion by the appointment date.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will join a department of 17 faculty within the College of Arts and Science and will be expected to teach a broad range of mathematics courses from introductory Calculus to graduate-level offerings, maintain an active research agenda and contribute to service at the departmental, college, university and professional level.
This search is part of a coordinated hiring effort in interdisciplinary data sciences within the College of Arts & Sciences. The successful candidate for this position will be expected to participate actively in curricular and research initiatives related to data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and related topics. Additionally, this position will provide support for the PhD program in Data Science and Engineering, which is shared by the Departments of Computer Science and Mathematical Sciences.
