ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) Issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association Issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association within 60 days of hire. NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association within 180 days of hire. Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbal/written). The Per Diem Respiratory Therapist RRT responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Administers a wide variety of therapeutic services and diagnostic tests to various patient types. Sets up all equipment/supplies needed and provides assistance to the physicians during special procedure. Performs assessments and re assessments of patient history, chest x-rays, vital signs, blood gases, progress notes, etc. in order to determine appropriate therapy modalities/frequencies or effects of conscious sedation and communicates this to the physician. Performs arterial punctures or blood gas analysis for arterial blood gases. Performs intubation as needed or requested where credentialed and approved by the medical staff. Provides onboarding education to new departmental staff and assists students rotating through the hospital. The Respiratory Therapist RRT is accountable to the assigned Supervisor. This position may have additional or varied physical demand and/or respiratory fit test requirements. This job requires the incumbents to operate a INTEGRIS-owned vehicle OR personal vehicle (non INTEGRIS-owned) and therefore must have a current Oklahoma State Driver's License as well as a driving record which is acceptable to our insurance carrier. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE: •2 years of experience in a leadership role Supervises, schedules, and coordinates daily activities and work assignments for the Respiratory Care department. A Assists with administrative activities and acts as clinical resource. Works collaboratively with other members of the health care team to provide appropriate patient therapy. Ensures the proper set up, assembly, cleaning, and restocking of equipment and supplies. Assists with inventory control of equipment carts. Observes universal and/or specialized precautions in carrying out daily responsibilities. Assists with development and implementation of formal training and orientation programs for staff. Administers, interprets, and ensures compliance with departmental policies and procedures. Provides on-going informal performance feedback, addresses problems, orients and trains employees, verifies competency and identifies and suggests ways to develop skills. Works collaboratively with other members of the health care team to determine the appropriateness of prescribed therapy and to establish achievable goals for the patient's identified pathophysiological state. Serves as a clinical resource to medical staff and other health professionals concerning respiratory care. Performs respiratory therapy services to patients, including oxygen therapy, Postural drainage and chest physiotherapy, aerosol therapy, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, airway management, ventilator management, Pulmonary Rehab., Holter monitoring, EKG Cardiac stress testing, and Pulmonary Function Study Provides teaching and communicates instructions to patient and/or family for use and indication of R.T. Delivers a variety of pharmaceutical agents needed for treatments. Serves as a member of the CPR (code blue) team. The Supervisor Respiratory Care reports to the Manager Respiratory Therapy. This position may have additional or varied physical demand and/or respiratory fit test requirements.
