As a Home Health Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA), here's a big-picture view of what you'll do: * Perform under the direction and supervision of the treating occupational therapist and in accordance with the plan of care. * Assist the treating occupational therapist in documenting a patient's progress and response to treatment. * Teach task-oriented therapeutic activities designed to restore physical and sensory-integrative function. * Communicate with the supervising occupational therapist, as well as other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team providing care to the patient in order to promote coordination of care. * Visually and aurally observe and assess the patient. * Participate in quality and performance improvement measures.
