Job DescriptionKubernetes Platform Software EngineerAs a Platform Software Engineer, you will design, implement, and maintain the custom Kubernetes operators underpinning our on-premises Kubernetes clusters, with a strong focus on scalability, reliability, and maintainability. You will assist with Kubernetes infrastructure automation via the creation of tooling and processes. Engage with development teams to understand platform needs and tailor the cluster experience to meet evolving requirements. Technical Leadership for Software Engineering Provide software development, guidance, code reviews, and pair programming support to a team of 11 engineers. Contribute to onboarding, team documentation, and process improvement initiatives. Act as a go-to technical expert for all Kubernetes custom operator questions across the engineering organization. Collaboration Partner closely with internal cybersecurity and development teams to ensure the platform's custom operators meet security, compliance, and usability expectations. Participate in cross-functional projects related to platform enhancements, cluster lifecycle automation, and infrastructure provisioning. Cloud Infrastructure Management Deploy and manage cloud infrastructure on platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Monitor and optimize cloud resources for performance, availability, and cost-efficiency. Containerization & Orchestration Build and manage containerized applications using Docker. Deploy and maintain Kubernetes clusters or other orchestration platforms Security & Compliance Implement and maintain security best practices across infrastructure and pipelines. Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations. Monitoring & Incident Response Set up and manage monitoring, logging, and alerting systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog). Respond to incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures. Collaboration & Support Work closely with development, QA, and IT teams to support application deployment and infrastructure needs. Provide technical guidance and support for DevOps tools and practices. Experience with microservices architecture and service mesh technologies. Familiarity with serverless computing and event-driven architectures. Certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, or Google Professional DevOps Engineer.
