We're seeking an Electrical / I&C Engineering Intern to join our team in Columbus, OH. You'll have the opportunity to use your theoretical knowledge and apply it to solving today's challenges. As an Electrical / Instrumentation and Controls Engineering Intern you will work with a core group of electrical, instrumentation and control, water/wastewater engineers, and designers on water and wastewater facility designs and construction services support to deliver innovative solutions to challenging technical problems that our clients face. You will work collaboratively with our team to complete the following:
- Prepare designs and specifications for electrical systems and instrumentation and controls for water and wastewater facilities
- Development of process & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and one line diagrams
- Electrical designs including low- and medium-voltage power distribution, lighting, emergency power systems, and control schematics
- Technical report writing
- Construction services support
* In pursuit of a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
* Strong analytical, conceptual, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
* A strong interest in electrical or control system design.
Ideally, you'll also have:
* Working knowledge of computer aided drafting programs such as Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM
* A previous internship related to your field of study

Job Description
The Central Plant Electrical Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day management, operation, maintenance, and performance of the electrical and controls infrastructure at Park City Center to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient service delivery across the property. This position reports directly to the Senior Operations Manager and supports all aspects of facility operations at the property.
Responsibilities
Operations and Maintenance:
Lead the operations, personnel, and both planned and preventive maintenance of electrical systems to ensure continuous, reliable, and efficient service delivery to tenants.
Manage electrical and control repair, replacement, and upgrade projects including budgeting, design, construction, commissioning, and maintenance.
Review subscriber drawings to ensure compliance with current electrical codes and the Electrical Design Criteria as set forth in the Tenant Criteria Manual.
Maintain and enforce the standards set forth in the electrical safety program to ensure compliance with safety standards and protocols.
Train, monitor and advise maintenance team members on best practices for operating and maintaining electrical systems and equipment as well as HVAC.
Administration
Prepare electrical and controls scheduling for approval by the management team.
Prepare and implement development plans for more junior operations team members.
Update Computerized Maintenance Management System (“CMMS”)
Ensure all electrical and control activities are captured through work orders.
Review work orders to identify chronic or recurring issues, recommending corrective actions as needed.
Update asset records in CMMS asset trees to ensure accurate and current equipment data.
Prepare purchase orders and manage inventory for electrical and controls tools, equipment parts, and materials.
Work with manager to prepare annual electrical and controls budgets for operating expenses and capital projects.
Identify and track expenditures for electrical and controls operating expenses and capital project costs.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
Tech school graduate or completion of a related certificate program required.
Valid driver's license required.
Electrical Journeyman Certification required.
Must have a solid understanding of and ability to adhere to the standards established by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).
Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC and facilities maintenance, repair, management, or related experience.
Knowledge of and proficiency in using general shop tools and power equipment associated with HVAC maintenance required.
Ability to collaborate effectively with co-workers, contractors and contracted service providers.
Proficiency with Energy Management Systems, CMMS and basic computer applications including email.

What Youll Do
Substation Design Development: Create/review detailed electrical substation designs, including one-line diagrams, schematics, and layouts for high-voltage (up to 500 kV) and medium-voltage systems.

About You
Junior or Senior pursuing a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, Access).
Familiarity with three phase power, the National Electric Code, wireless radio systems, fire and security systems, Fiber or LAN cabling is a plus.
Familiarity with designing lighting, fire alarm systems, and low voltage systems for building spaces, including lighting calculations, and coordinating fixture placement with trades.
GPA: 3.0 or above
Travel to customer project sites for fieldwork, review, audit, and meetings, estimated 25%.
Familiarity AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift-up to 15 pounds at times.

The Building Electrical Group is responsible for all building electrical systems including lighting, fire protection and low voltage for our design build, industrial projects. We design and build food and beverage production facilities. Our building electrical team is involved with designing the electrical systems, calculating power loads, determining, and selecting equipment sizes, and vetting and selecting suitable vendors, suppliers, and sub-contractors. We'll Expect You To:
* Responsible for design and specification of electrical systems for water and wastewater conveyance and treatment facilities.
* From planning studies to final design, the electrical engineer will lead in preparing contract documents for complex projects.
* Electrical designs including low- and medium-voltage power distribution, lighting, emergency power systems, and control schematics.
* Develop basis of design reports and technical memorandums.
* Expertly apply knowledge of commonly used electrical engineering and design concepts, principles, best practices, codes, and guidelines related to industry standards.
* Solid understanding of applicable industry electrical codes, and standard practices, including the National Electrical Code (NEC) and NFPA requirements.
* Knowledge and design proficiency in vendor equipment options.
* Perform power system studies for electrical systems including load flow, short circuit, coordination and arc flash.
* Perform field visits and conduct site investigations for public and private clients.
* Provide services during construction including submittal reviews, response to Contractor's request for information, review and approval of change orders, and preparation of record drawings.
* Manage several different assignments simultaneously.
* Provide quality control and quality assurance of electrical engineering plans, specifications, and estimates.
* Collaborate with multi-discipline teams across multiple office locations.
* Mentor junior staff.
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
* Professional Engineer (PE) license in OH and ability to be licensed in multiple states (or ability to obtain PE license within one year of hire).

* Electrical system commissioning experience.

* Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) program experience in REVIT, and AutoCAD.
