As a Foreman at MatPel Builders in Carmel, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional craftsmanship on high-end residential projects. Youll work closely with the Superintendent to lead field operations, coordinate crews and subcontractors, and uphold quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities
Crew Leadership
Manage daily crew activities and scheduling.
Plan ahead by forecasting crew and resource needs at least six weeks out.
Delegate tasks effectively and foster a productive, respectful work environment.
Ensure quality meets or exceeds company standards.
Maintain safety on site and model best practices.
Promote a positive, solutions-focused jobsite culture.
Subcontractor Coordination
Confirm scope, schedule, and readiness for subcontractors.
Supervise and support subcontractor performance under Superintendent direction.
Maintain a working knowledge of plans, specifications, and materials.
Foster cooperative relationships with subcontractor leads.
Generate punch lists and enforce completion timelines.
Track and document change orders and T&M work as needed.
Communication & Documentation
Submit material orders, field work orders (FWOs), and other forms as needed.
Ensure all team member timecards are completed accurately and submitted on time.
Participate in production meetings and provide updates to the Superintendent.
Jobsite Safety
Act as Field Safety Officer.
Enforce OSHA standards and jobsite safety protocols.
Wear and promote proper PPE use at all times.
General Oversight
Understand and apply local building codes.
Initiate early punch list processes to minimize final corrections.
Maintain organized, clean, and well-equipped jobsites.
Support Superintendent as needed and serve as backup when required.
Physical Requirements
Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Stand, walk, climb, crouch, crawl, and navigate stairs/ladders.
Work in varying weather and environmental conditions.

What you will do:
You will be responsible for the PV solar & battery installation from beginning to end - supervising crews, assisting as a technical resource, coordinating installation times, managing the roof installation, and handling the AC and DC electrical aspects of the project. Check in with the management office to let them know we are there, what building(s) we are working on, ask if there were any issues reported by the residents or property staff and resolve any issues.
Verify safety is properly set up.
Verify that the crew is on the proper building and is performing the proper scope of work.
Determine if there are any materials that are not onsite that will be needed that day or in the next few days to come.
Contact the superintendent or branch manager if any materials are needed and arrange for their delivery. The foreman should not leave the jobsite.
At all breaks, instruct the crew to clean up the grounds below the work area as needed. Clean the grounds personally as needed.
Several times daily, inspect the crews work to ensure that it is completed properly
Nearing the end of the day, begin giving the crew instructions on items that must be completed prior to the crew leaving the property
Before the crew is allowed to leave the property, ensure that all details are completed andthat the roof is watertight overnight.
Update completed projects with notes of what was done, labor hours and materials used, and submit photo documentation.
Look at tomorrow's assigned work orders and get prepared for the following day. Ensure tools and equipment needed are in good working order.
Review timesheet hours and submit any corrections as needed.

Physical requirements:
