**ABOUT THE ROLE**
This position reports to the Mechanical Supervisor. All duties are performed in a work-safe manner; plant safety rules are followed and individual works as a team member. The primary objective of this position is to maintain the plant's mechanical equipment through proper installation, repair and preventive maintenance.
**WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH**
+ Perform maintenance work in a safe manner.
+ Assist and instruct other mechanics and maintenance personnel on jobs as necessary.
+ Perform proper mechanical maintenance of environmental control systems (dust collectors, etc).
+ Report any equipment conditions that may affect the quality of product being manufactured.
+ Inspect equipment and machinery, diagnose faulty operation, and determine proper corrective action in order to make necessary adjustments, replacements, or repairs.
+ Responsible for the quality of mechanical equipment repairs.
+ Perform various duties in difficult positions and hard to access places.
+ Complete rigging and hoisting of heavy loads.
+ Lubricate various types of bearings, gearboxes, etc.
+ Perform duties with little to no supervision.
+ Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
**WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR**
**Required Education:** High School Graduate, GED, or equivalent
**Required Work Experience:** 5+ years
**Required License:** Current Mechanical Journeyman License
**Additional Requirements:**
+ Demonstrated proficiency in the knowledge and skills required for mechanical maintenance and maintenance of mechanical equipment.
+ Demonstrated ability to work independently.
+ Ability to handle overtime and emergency call outs on nights and weekends.
+ Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
