Kadima company history timeline

1987

In 1987, Kadima founded the Kadima Community School, an independent supplemental school, which teaches Jewish culture, history, ritual, language, and ethics within a context of progressive values.

1989

In 1989, Kadima began to expand its housing services and now operates a continuum of residential services ranging from 24 hour licensed care, to community living supports for individuals living in their own homes.

1993

1993 — Moves to Shoup Avenue campus.

1994

In 1994, the organization and school merged to form one identity.

1996

In October 1996, the United States Postal Service issued its first-ever Hanukkah stamp.

1998

Kadima Website accessed November 2, 1998 (www.kadima.org).

2000

In 2000, Kadima welcomed its first rabbi, Rabbi Drorah O'Donnell Setel.

2003

In 2003 Olmert was recalled to national politics by Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, who appointed him vice prime minister and minister of trade and industry.

2004

2004 — Moves to the Evenhaim Family Campus at 7011 Shoup Avenue.

2007

Negotiations between Olmert’s government and the Palestinian Authority took place in 2007–08 nonetheless.

2008

In July 2008 he announced that he would step down following party elections scheduled for later that year.

2009

Following her victory, Livni failed to form a coalition government, as she refused to agree to Shas' demands, resulting in early elections in February 2009.

2010

He promised to continue Sharon’s policies of disengagement from Israeli-occupied areas and of setting permanent borders between Israel and the Palestinians by 2010.

2012

In January 2012 he was also indicted for allegedly taking bribes to advance construction projects, notably an apartment complex called Holyland, when he was mayor of Jerusalem.

Livni lost the leadership of Kadima to Shaul Mofaz, considered the leader of the party's right wing, in a leadership election in March 2012.

The trial began later that year, and in July 2012 he was acquitted on the two central charges but was found guilty of breach of trust, a lesser charge.

2013

Livni ran under a new party in the 2013 elections, drawing votes away from Kadima, which received only two seats.

Hasson had already left the Knesset in 2013 to become chairman of the Israel Antiquities Authority.

2015

The party did not win any seats in the 2015 elections and became defunct thereafter.

Prior to the 2015 elections Mofaz retired from politics after Kadima decided against joining the Zionist Union alliance.

2016

In 2016, Kadima established an integrated care model by hiring a full-time nurse to provide coordination of medical and psychiatric care, screening for co-morbid illnesses and medical advocacy.

2017

The sentence was later reduced to 18 months, and he was released on parole in 2017 after serving 16 months.

2017 — Kadima launches accessibility initiative, lowering tuition while maintaining quality

2020

2020 - Kadima celebrates 50th year anniversary

2021
