Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of all paint and blasting equipment. Ensure all operators are properly instructed on the safe operation and maintenance of equipment. Responsible for reviewing the job applicable contract cleaning and painting specifications. Responsible for cleaning and painting of all fabricated material. Ensure proper testing procedures are used in compliance with contract specifications and maintain accurate records in accordance with AISC standards. Prepares fabricated products for shipment. Orders job applicable paint and supplies. Responsible for ensuring adherence to all company safety and OSHA regulations. Must maintain a thorough knowledge of company Quality Assurance and Safety Manuals. The ability to work overtime and regular, punctual attendance is required. Qualifications High School diploma of equivalent with a certificate from Vo-Tech. Minimum of 5 years' industrial surface preparation and coating experience. Must have 2 years supervisory experience in an industrial paint shop. Must have a thorough knowledge of sophisticated paint systems required in an AISC certified (with Paint Endorsement) steel fabrication shop. Must be able to read and comprehend fabrication drawings. Must have scheduling, supervisory and equipment maintenance experience. Must have working knowledge of AISC, AASHTO and SSPC standards. Must have the ability to effectively read a tape measure, work in fractions and meet deadlines. Good organizational skills required. Physical DemandsMust be able to lift at least 100 pounds. Job requires a considerable amount of climbing, pulling, pushing, crawling, bending and stooping, etc. Exposed to temperature fluctuations and loud noises. Requires overtime and weekend work. All of the physical demands listed are essential functions.Safety & Environmental Factors: All employees are expected to adhere to the company's safety policies to maintain a safe and healthy work environment. This role involves working under extreme hot or cold conditions and requires the physical ability to stand for the entire shift, use hands for various tasks, ascend stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear. Team members must occasionally lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
