Kennebec Valley Community Action Program (KVCAP), which seeks to strengthen individuals, families and communities through direct services and community collaborations that create solutions to poverty, is looking to hire a patient and understanding full-time KV Van Driver in Augusta. The person in this position is responsible for operating an Agency owned vehicle to transport clients to and from appointments as assigned and assisting clients and belongings to and from the vehicle.

Requirements:
Must be at least twenty-one years of age and have a minimum of three-years experience as a licensed driver
Have a good driving record with no serious or recurring moving violations
Physically able to assist passengers in and out of the vehicle including passengers using a wide variety of mobility aids including wheelchairs, walkers, motorized three wheeled scooters, etc. and may include lifting and carrying parcels weighing up to fifty pounds
Ability to pass an Agency approved physical examination, pre-employment drug screening, and pass DMV, State Bureau of Investigation, Department of Health & Human Services, Sex Offender Registry and fraud background checks

Van Driver/Maintenance Coordinator
Position Summary
The Van Driver/Maintenance coordinator's the primary purpose is to maintain the grounds, facility, and equipment in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local guidelines and regulations, a facility established policies and procedures, and as may be directed by your supervisor, to assure that a successful a maintenance program is maintained at all times. The maintenance coordinator is responsible to meet or exceed all resident and visitor's expectations. The The maintenance coordinator will be energetic and will combine applicable professional knowledge with strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Essential Functions:
The following list of duties includes primary responsibilities, but is not all-inclusive:
Receive and follow maintenance schedule/instructions from your supervisor and as outlined in our established maintenance policies and procedures.
Perform routine maintenance on grounds, parking areas, driveways, etc.
Perform routine maintenance and repair on the facility and equipment to include plumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, mechanical, etc., as directed, in accordance with established procedures.
Clean windows and screens as directed.
Replace burned-out light bulks, to include, exit lights, overhead lights, fluorescent lights, and room call lights, and perform cleaning duties whenever necessary.
Perform unscheduled maintenance tasks as directed by supervisor.
Be in an on-call rotation for nights, weekends, and emergencies in conjunction with the maintenance staff at the facility.
Transport residents to and from appointments as scheduled.
Promotes the facility philosophy of care and mission statement.
Communicate any vehicle maintenance needs to the Maintenance Manager
Specific Requirements:
Ability to read, writes, speak and understand the English language.
Must possess the ability to make independent decisions, to follow instructions, and accept constructive criticism.
Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, and visitors.
Must have the ability to minimize waste of supplies.
Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
Ability to comprehend and practice generally recognized safety principles and procedures.
Ability to effectively listen and communicate with others.
Ability to remain pleasant, cheerful, tactful, respectful, and courteous when interacting with Residents, Visitors, and other Employees.
Ability to remain levelheaded and calm in emergencies.
Ability to cooperate with other personnel and resolve interpersonal conflicts independently or with minimal assistance.
Ability to treat information as confidential material.
Willingness to accept suggestions and direction from the supervisor or their designee.
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent
Experience preferred but not required, on the job training provided.
At least 18 (eighteen) years of age and a valid Maine driver's license.
