You will be part of a top-performing project team and report to an expert in the industry. This position regularly interacts with project managers, project engineers, site supervisors, and company operations leaders.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Site Quality Inspector, you will:
Be responsible for inspecting all site welds and ensuring compliance with governing guidelines.
Stop and report all unsafe conditions and acts.
Understand the governing construction codes.
Understand the inspection and test plan requirements applicable to the work scope.
Ensure welders are qualified for the welding being performed.
Inspect the welds, assigns numbers for the weld map, create weld logs.
Perform all aspects of Hydro-test and Turnover Package maintenance.
Utilize punch lists to identify incomplete items and present to supervision.
Compile all appropriate documents in the turnover package.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 2 years professional experience with piping inspection
Turnover package creation
Experience with at least one of the following: Heat Maps, Weld Maps, Hydro Packages
Certified Welding Inspector with AWS or similar
Knowledge of ASME codes and applications
Has administered weld tests, as required
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a constantly changing environment
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Excel, WORD, Outlook, and technical aptitude to learn new systems

• Coordinate between Veritas Steel Production and DOT Inspectors to ensure DOT witnessing of production operations and QC hold points are being completed.
• Perform visual inspection of material as required.
• Perform layout checks as needed.
• Perform rotational capacity tests on bolts prior to use in shop.
• Work with outside inspectors to resolve quality issues on the floor.
• Monitor welder qualification tests.
• Monitor and record welding parameters to insure compliance to approved WPS.

Overview:

Provide inspection for surface preparation, concrete testing data, formwork, misc. metals, reinforcing bar, water stop, concrete finish and curing operations.

Prepare daily field inspection reports.
Report deficiencies to the project Quality Control and Operations Teams.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
5 (+) years' experience in the area of heavy civil works construction similar to the work being performed at this project.
Ability to interpret complex construction plans and specifications.
Ability to write reports using Microsoft Word or Excel.
Ability to work with a fast-paced team in an aggressive construction environment.
United States Army Corps of Engineers Project Experience is preferred.
Strong ability to multitask, work independently under pressure, and within tight deadlines.
Prior heavy civil site project experience such as water control, dam, levee, concrete, and mass excavation experience.
